중국 지역별 도농(都農) 간 소득격차에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구

국문 초록

1978년 개혁개방 이후 중국은 눈부신 경제성장을 이루었는데 이러한 급격한 경제성장과정에서 중국 내 지역 간, 계층 간 경제적 격차가 심화되어 사회적 문제로 대두되었다. 그 중에 도농(都農)간 소득격차문제는 전체 소득격차문제의 중요한 부분이 되었다. 본 연구는 중국의 도시와 농촌간의 소득격차에 영향을 미치는 요인에 영향을 측정하기 위하여 1992-2008년간의 중국 29개 지역별 자료를 이용해서 선행연구를 바탕으로 실증분석모형을 설정하고, 중국 권역별, 기간별 도농 간 소득격차에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하였다. 지역별 분석결과 전국과 서부지역의 경우 FDI 유입이 도농 간 소득격차를 완화시키는 효과가 있는 반면 동부와 중부지역의 경우에는 FDI 유입이 도농 간 소득격차에 영향을 미치지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 전국적으로 도농 간 소득격차를 완화시키는 유의한 영향요인은 고정자산투자, 비교노동생산성이 있으며 소득격차를 악화시키는 요인은 주로 인적자본을 나타내는 교육 요인이었다. 동부, 중부, 서부지역에서 비교노동생산성이 도농 간 소득격차를 완화시키는 효과가 모두 뚜렷한 것으로 나타났다. 시기별 분석결과, 농촌 잉여 노동력의 타 산업 이전은 도농 간 소득격차가 완화되는 시기인 1995-1998년 기간에 소득격차를 완화시키는 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났지만 도농 간 소득격차가 확대되는 시기인 1999년 이후에는 소득격차에 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다

영문 초록

China has achieved remarkable economic development since its reformation and opening up in 1978. However, the economic gap across different regions and classes has been intensified during such economic development process, which becomes one of the social issues that cannot be ignored any longer. Among them, the income gap between urban and rural areas is an essential part in the income gap issue. FDI, as a major form of China s opening up policy, has shown rapid growth. Although FDI has contributed greatly to creating jobs, restructuring industry and enhancing market competitiveness, it is also proposed that the inflow of large amount of direct foreign investment had negative influences on economic stabilization, industrial safety and social stability of China. This study is aimed to examine the effect of FDI on income distribution, especially on the income gab between urban and rural areas. For this purpose, this study used the data from 29 regions of China during 1992-2008 period and adopted an empirical analysis mode based on the previous to examine the effect of direct foreign investments on the income gap across different regions, periods and between urban and rural areas. In addition, based on the findings from such analysis, this study proposes an alternative to policy to solve the income gab between urban and rural areas in China.
