국문 초록

포스트휴머니즘 시대는 과학기술 시대이며 이 시대는 실용적 과학기술이 보편화되는 시대이다. 이러한 시대적 분위기에서 교양교육, 특히 인문교양교육은 그 본연적 속성을 변화할 것을 요청받고 있다. 왜냐하면 포스트휴머니즘 시대는 인문학의 추상적 사유 가능성과 과학기술적 경험 증명성을 상호연결하여 인간과 과학기술이 공존하는 시대 그리고 그 시대를 살아가는 인간을 이해하는 것을 교양교육의 보편적이며 본원적인 의미로 이해하기 때문이다. 이러한 시대적 요청에 따라 인문학은 관념적 내지는 형이상학적 인간이해라는 추상적 영역에서벗어나 실증적 인간 연구로 전환되어야 하며, 교양교육 또한 이러한 시대적 요청을 수용할 수 있는교육체계를 구상해야 한다. 리버럴아츠교육은 전통적으로 이질적 지식과 학문영역의 유연한 조합을보편적 일반교양으로 제시하여 전인적이며 자유로운 한 개인으로서의 인간을 양성한다. 즉, 리버럴아츠교육은 그 내용적 그리고 체계적 구성상 이질적인 학문과 지식을 포괄할 수 있는 유연한 수용력을갖는 교육방식이다. 이러한 가능성은 과학기술 시대의 교양 뿐 아니라 인문학의 과학화 그리고 과학의인문화라는 통합적 보편교육으로 구축된다. 그리고 이는 교양으로서 인문학 자체의 자기이해이기도하다.

영문 초록

The Posthuman era is a period in which practical science technologies are more widely used. Thus, general education, especially general education for the Humanities, is being asked to change its fundamental properties. Because of the special meaning of the Posthuman era, this time frame describes the era in which human beings and science technologies coexist by connecting the possibility of the abstract thinking of the Humanities and the probability of scientific experience. It is also considered to be the universal and fundamental meaning of general education. Seen in this light, the Humanities should make a transition to empirical human science. General education should also accept this periodical demand. Traditionally, a Liberal Arts education suggested a flexible combination of heterogeneous knowledge with academic discipline as a universal general education, with the goal of turning out, so to speak, both whole an free human beings. In other words, a Liberal Arts education should be a system with a flexible capacity; one which encompasses both heterogeneous knowledge and certain academic facets in both contents and its construction.
