다문화 소설에 나타난 난민의 재현 양상 연구

국문 초록

최근 국제적인 이슈가 되고 있는 난민 문제는 전 지구적인 사안으로 여러 가지 복합적인 양상이 결합되어 있다. 국적국의 박해를 피해 자발적으로 국경을 이탈한 난민은 국제적 난민협약이나 국내 난민법상 보호의 대상이지만 현실에서는 난민 인정을 받기까지 어려운 상황 속에 놓이게 된다. 한국에도 약 12,000명의 난민 신청자가 입국해 있으며, 점차적으로 더 많은 난민들이 유입될 것으로 예상된다. 이러한 국내외적 상황에서 다문화소설에 난민들이 어떻게 재현되었는가를 살펴보기 위해 세 편의 단편소설을 분석하였다. 최인석의 <스페인 난민수용소>에서는 국민과 난민의 경계가 모호해서 언제라도 국민의 위치에서 난민의 위치로 전환될 수 있다는 점을 밝혔고, 김윤영의 <타잔>에서는 점차적으로 정치적 박해가 아닌 경제적 상황에 따른 자발적 난민이 증가할 것이라는 점을 언급하였다. 이종학의 <땅에 묻은 가족사진(家族寫眞)>에서는 월남전으로 인한 전쟁난민의 비극적 삶을 재현하여 전쟁의 비극성을 서술하였고, 특히 난민 2세들을 통해 그 비극성이 대를 이어 지속될 수 있다는 점을 규명하였다. 아직 난민에 대한 개인과 사회의 인식이 부정적이어서 그들을 수용하는데 많은 어려움이 있을 것이다. 궁극적으로 난민 문제의 최상의 해결책은 난민 발생의 원인을 제거하고 그들이 국적국에서 평화와 안정을 누리며 살아갈 수 있는 환경을 구성해나가는 일이 될 것이다.

영문 초록

The recent issue of refugees is global and is composed of many complex phases. Those purposefully crossing over their nation’s border due to persecution should be protected under international refugee agreements or domestic refugee protection acts but in reality, they are placed in difficult situations until they are accepted as refugees. Korea has about 12,000 ones who have applied for refugee status and is expected to gradually see more influx. In these domestic and overseas situations, three short stories were analyzed to see how refugees recur in them. In “Refugee Camp in Spain” by Choi Inseok, boundary between nationals and refugees is vague, so the current study revealed that nationals can become refugees at anytime and regarding “Tarzan” by Kim Yeonyeong, it mentioned that voluntary refugees not due to poitical but economic situations will gradually increase. Using “Family Photo Buried Underground” by Lee Jonghak, it had war refugees’ tragically living due to the Vietnamese War and the tragedy of war stated, especially verifying that their tragedy could pass down through generations to their children. Due to our society’s lingering negative recognition of them, it will not be easy to accept them. Ultimately, the best solution to the refugee issues is to remove sources that produce refugees and create an environment in their mother nations, where they can enjoy peace and stability.
