국문 초록

본 연구는 IMF 이후 신자유주의 시장질서 속에서 승자독식이라는 무한경쟁에 내몰린 한국사회의 대학생이 어떻게 하면 건강한 인성을 지닐 수 있을까 하는 문제의식에서 출발했다. 먼저 인성의 의미와 그 구성근거에 대해 살펴보았다. 인성은 대체로 도덕성, 사회성, 정서로 되어 있으며, 더 나아가 창의성과 개인의 고유성 및 개별성도 담아낼 필요가 있는데, 상상력에 근거하여 이들 다양한 인성의 요소들이 통합될 수 있다. 더 나아가 칸트의『판단력 비판』을 참고하여 상상력을 인간과 세계를 재창조해 낼 수 있는 천재개념으로 확장시켰다. 천재의 능력은 무엇보다 시인에게서 볼 수 있는데, 시인은 상상력을 매개로 자연과 세계를 새로운 차원으로 재해석할 수 있는 존재이다. 인간 일반이 자신의 삶과 세계를 재해석하여 자신의 고유한 이야기를 만들 수 있는 작가이기에 누구나 천재라는 소질과 시인의 안목을 지닐 수 있다고 보았다. 더 나아가 상상력 개념을 더 확장하여 인간정체성으로서의 인성을 구성하는 통합원리로 내러티브를 제시했다. 내러티브 접근은 사회구성주의의 관점과 맞닿아 있고, 건강에 대한 인문학적 접근의 하나로 인문치료의 성격을 지니고 있다. 교수와 학생은 치료적 효과를 지닌 언어를 매개로 하여 각자의 삶을 새롭게 구성하고 공동으로 창작하는 작가이다.

영문 초록

Our concern in this project begins with a question how Korean university students can maintain a healthy character in spite of the endless competitive spirit described by the phrase of the winner-takes-all in the order of free market under neo-liberalism since IMF. First, we examine the meaning of character and its constitutive clue. In a general way, it is said that character consists of morality, sociality and emotion. But that doesn’t do. The meaning of character needs to include concepts such as creativity, singularity or individuality. Those factors of character previously stated, most of all, imagination can synthesize. This study proposes to enlarge the concept of imagination from Kant’s first critique to his third critique which argues mental powers constituting genius. Genius can be looked upon as a kind of productive faculty to re-create man and world. The very genius shines, among others, in a poet who can reconstruct nature & world by means of imagination. Reinterpreting our lives & world, and writing our own stories, we are, so called, a kind of authors with genius’ and poet’s eye. In addition, this study extends the concept of imagination to narrative as a synthesizing principle building character. Narrative approach has an affinity with socio-constructivism, and it’s a kind of humanities therapy of health. Both professors and students are co-authors who can rewrite their own life-stories through language with therapeutic effective.
