국문 초록

이 논문의 목적은 로마서로부터 제기된 두 가지 근본적인 질문에 대한 답을 찾는데 있다. 첫째, 로마서의 중심 주제는 무엇인가? 둘째, 중심 주제의 의미는 무엇인가? 첫 번째 질문과 관련하여, 이 글은 핵심적인 주제 어휘를 찾기 위해 로마서의 중요한 용어들, 이를테면, 하나님의 의, 의, 믿음, 구원, 복음의 빈도수와 용법을 자세하게 조사한다. 로마서에 나오는 중요한 신학적 어휘들의 빈도수와 그 용법조사를 통하여 이 글은 로마서의 가장 중요한 해석학적 문구는 로마서의 주제 구절인 1:17에서 처음 등장하여 3:3, 21, 22, 25, 26과 10:3, 3에서 반복되고 있는 하나님의 의 어휘임을 발견한다. 덧붙여 하나님의 의의 문구는 로마서에 63번 등장하는 모든 의 어휘의 요람으로서 사실상 로마서의 전체 구성에 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 모든 내러티브를 주도해 가고 있음을 발견한다. 또한 이 논문은 로마서의 몸체(1:18-15:13)가 기본적으로 세 가지 중요한 내러티브, 창조와 타락(1:18-3:20), 예수 그리스도 안에서 구속(3:21-11:36), 성령을 통한 전 피조물의 회복 내러티브(12:1-15:13)로 구성된다는 것을 발견한다. 이 논문은 그 다음 주제 어휘인 하나님의 의의 문구가 로마서의 내러티브가 전개되면서 그 의미를 드러내고 있음을 발견한다. 로마서 내러티브의 전개에 대한 고찰로부터 논문은 주제 문구가 한가지 의미 만을 가지고 있는 것이 아니라, 다양한 의미를, 예를 들면 하나님의 언약적 신실성, 예수 그리스도를 통한 하나님의 구원 활동, 믿음을 통한 구원의 선물, 신자와 피조 세계 안에서 성령의 창조적인 사역 등의 의미를 가지고 있음을 발견한다. 이러한 발견들에 근거하여 논문은 로마서에 대한 내러티브 접근은 로마서에 대한 전통적인 구원론적 이해는 물론 새 관점의 사회학적-교회론적 이해의 한계를 극복할 수 있다고 결론을 내린다. 덧붙여 이 내러티브 접근과 그 이해가 로마서의 목적과도 잘 부합한다고 주장한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to find answers to two fundamental questions raised by Romans. First, what is the central theme of Romans? Second, what is the meaning of the central theme? Regarding the first question, this article examines important Roman terms, such as God s righteousness, faith, salvation, and their frequencies and usages, in order to find a key subject vocabulary. Through examinations and inspections of the frequency and usage of the important theological vocabulary in Romans, this article finds that the most important interpretative phrase of Romans is God’s righteousness, which first appeared in the theme verse of Romans 1:17, and is repeated in 3:3, 21, 22, 25, 26 and 10: 3,3. In addition, it finds that the phrase of God s righteousness is the cradle of all the vocabulary that appears in Romans 63 times, and it is also found that the phrase not only influences the entire composition of Romans, but also leads all narratives. It also discovers that the body of the letter (1:18-15:13) consists basically of three important narratives: creation and fall (1:18-3:20), redemption in Jesus Christ (3:21-11:36), and the restoration narrative of all creations through the Holy Spirit (12:1-15:13). The paper discovers that the meaning of the phrase of God’s righteousness is revealed as the Romans narrative unfolds. From an examination of the development of the Roman narrative, the paper finds that the phrase God’s righteousness does not have a single meaning, but has a variety of meanings, such as God s covenant faithfulness, God s saving activity through Jesus Christ, God’s gift of salvation through faith in Christ, and God’s creative work through the Holy Spirit in the world of believers and creations. Based on these findings, the paper concludes that a narrative approach to Romans can overcome the limitations of traditional soteriological understanding of Romans as well as sociological-ecclesiastical understanding of the New Perspective. In addition, the paper argues that this narrative approach and its understanding are well-matched to the purpose of the Romans.
