윤두서의 『일본여도』와 『본조도감강목』과의 비교 연구

국문 초록

공재 윤두서는 李萬敷, 李漵, 沈得經, 李夏坤 등과 교류하면서 그림을 그린 조선 후기 대표적인 근기남인 화가였다. 그들은 학문과 군사, 지리 등에 관해서도 폭넓게 교류하였다. 공재도 중국과 일본의 지리서적과 지도들을 많이 보고 『동국여지지도』와 『일본여도』를 제작하였다. 공재가 『일본여도』를 제작할 때 이용한 일본지도는 『본조도감강목』이다. 이 지도는 이시카와 류센이 만든 『본조도감강목』과 하야시 키치에이가 만든 『본조도감강목』, 그리고 작가를 알 수 없는 『신판일본도대회도』라는 『본조도감강목』의 세 종류가 있다. 이들 세 지도와 공재의 지도를 비교하면 『신판일본도대회도』가 제일 비슷하다. 공재의 『일본여도』가 『신판일본도대회도』와 제일 비슷하지만 이 지도도 『본조도감강목』을 참고하여 개정한 지도일 것이므로 공재의 『일본여도』는 『류센도』인 『본조도감강목』을 저본으로 제작한 것이다. 공재의 『일본여도』는 이익과 정약용 같은 실학자들에게 많은 영향을 주었고 그의 후손인 윤정기도 공재의 『일본여도』와 같은 또 다른 『일본여도』를 제작하였다.

영문 초록

Yun Du-seo was a representative artist in the late Joseon period. He painted paintings with Lee Man-boo, Lee Seo, Sim Deug-gyeong, and Lee Ha-gon, and they exchanged their knowledges extensively about their scholarship, military, and geography. In this process, Chinese geographical books, Japanese geographical books, and maps were also used and discussed with each other. Through the discussions, they expanded geographical awareness. Lee Seo made a map of Mt. Geumgang, and Lee Man-boo compiled Chinese and Korean map books called “Jwagwanhwanggoeng”. Yun Du-seo also studied a lot of geographical books and maps of China and Japan. He produced 『Map of Korea, Dong-gug-yeojijido』 and 『Map of Japan, Ilbon-yeodo』. When Yun Du-seo made 『Ilbon-yeodo』, he used the map of Japan called 『Bonjodogamgangmog』. There are three kinds of 『Bonjodogamgangmog』: The first one made by Ishikawa Ryuzen, the second on made by Hayashi kichiai, and the third “New Edition of Japan map” made by an unknown artist. If you compare these maps, the “New Edition of Japan map” is similar to 『Ilbon-yeodo』. However, as “New Edition of Japan map” has no publishing date, it is impossible to know when and who produced it. This map is currently only available at the British Museum, and there is no one volume in Japan. The title of the map contains the new edition. From this point of view, this map would refer to any map published earlier. Yun Du-seo’s 『Ilbon-yeodo』 is similar to the “New Edition of Japan map”. The “New Edition of Japan map” was revised with reference to 『Bonjodogamgangmog』. Yun Dou-seo’s 『Ilbon-yeodo』 is a newly revised version of 『Bonjodogamgangmog』. Yun Du-seo’s 『Ilbon-yeodo』 influenced many scholars such as Lee Ik and Jeong Yak-yong. His descendant, Yun Jeong-gi, also copied Yun Du-seo’s 『Ilbon-yeodo』.
