高麗 對蒙抗爭期 金允侯將軍의 3次例 勝戰의 意義

국문 초록

고려와 몽골간의 6차에 걸친 전쟁 중에 몽골군이 고려에 의해 패퇴하여 철수 한 것은 2차 전쟁이 유일하다. 2차 전쟁에 대한 고려 승전의 결정적인 전투가 金允侯가 참전했던 處仁城戰鬪(1232년 12월)이며, 이 전투에서 몽골군 총사령관 撒禮塔이 사살되었다. 김윤후는 대몽항쟁기에 처인성전투와 5차 전쟁에서 防護別監으로 임명되어 忠州城戰鬪를勝戰(1253년 10월)으로 이끈 것으로 잘 알려져 있다. 그러나 김윤후가 1259년 1월에 임명된 東北面兵馬使재임기간 동안 발생한 麟蹄寒溪山城勝戰(1259년 2월)에 대해서는 잘 알려져 있지 않았다. 그 당시 기록이 빈약하여 처인성전투와 충주성전투, 한계산성전투의 자세한 전황을 파악하기 어렵다. 본고는 사료의 빈곤을 보완할 수 있는 대표적인 현장의 자료인 성곽과 11세기에 발간된 北宋의 兵書인 武經總要 와 몽골이 서하와 금, 송나라의 전쟁과정을 기록한 자료들을 통해 당시의 전투상황을 비교 검토하여, 처인성과 충주성승전의 전황을 자세히 살펴보았다. 그리고 그 동안 알려지지 않았던 인제 한계산성의 승전에 대한 의의를 도출해냈다. 필자는 김윤후가 군사조직의 리더로서 전투상황 속에서 어떠한 해결방안을 도출해 내고, 어떻게 조직을 이끌어서 성공적인 결과물을 창출해냈는지, 그리고 승전 이후 하부조직에 대한 적절한 공적의 분배 등을 통해 군지도자로서의 리더십(leadership)과 관련된 연구의 새로운 지평을 열기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

In the course of six wars between Goryeo Dynasty and Mongolia, the Mongol army was only defeated and withdrew in the 2nd War. The crucial battle for Goryeo to win this war was the Cheoinseong Fortress battle, in which a military officer, Kim Yun-Hoo, took part and the Mongol military commander Salietai was killed.(December 1232) Kim Yun-Hoo, appointed as the mountain fortress guard officer during Goryeo s 5th war against Mongolia(October 1253), is famous for achieving victory in the Battle of Chungjuseong Fortress in this period. However, the fact that he led Inje Hangyesanseong Fortress battle in triumph during his service, as a military commander of the Northeast area since 1259, is not well known. The documentation regarding that time is so lacking that it is tough to grasp the detailedsituation of the battles in Cheoinseong Fortress and Chungjuseong Fortress. In order to compensate for the lack of data and determine the war situation in detail, this article closely investigates the castles themselves; North Song Dynasty s military compendium Wujing Zongyao published in the 11th century; Mongol s record of wars against Seoha, the Jin Dynasty, and the Song Dynasty. The conclusion illuminates the unexplained significance of the successful war of the Hangyesanseong Fortress battle. This paper examines what solutions Kim Yun-Hoo, as a leader of a military organization, found during the battles, how he led the organization to successful outcomes, how he appropriately distributed the credit of the victories to those lower in his organization. I hope it opens up a new horizon in the field of research related to Kim Yun-Hoo s leadership.
