국문 초록

서양의 신체관에 영향을 받은 동아시아 의학 연구자들은 심장이 경맥체계의 중심 이라고 주장했다. 그러나 동양에서 자연은 추동자없이 움직인다고 믿어졌다. 그러므로 추동자를 위한 거주지는 필요하지 않다. 최근, 학자들은 심장은 몸의 중심이기 보다는 오장의 하나에 불과하다는 점을 지적했으나, 이 점은 역으로 동아시아 의학에 선명히 남아있는 심장중심의 관점을 희석시킨다. 이 논문은 황제내경에서는 심장숭 심의 신체관과 중심없이 순환하는 기를 중심으로 하는 신체관이 병존한다고 주장하 면서, 심장중심 신체관의 연원을 좇음으로써 경맥체계를 포함하는 동아시아의학의 신체관에 대한 이해를 심화시킬 것이다.

영문 초록

The East Asian medicine researchers who were influenced by the western view of body argued that the heart is the center of meridian system. However, in the East, it was believed that nature moves by itself without any mover. There was no need for dwelling to be placed for the mover in the body. Recently, scholars have pointed out the fact that the heart is only a part of the five viscera rather than the center of body. However, this point dilutes the clear fact that the heart-centered view of body exists in East Asian medicine.This article showed that in Yellow Emperor’s Inner Cannon (Huangdineijing) the view of body focusing on heart as a center and circulation of qi without center coexist, and it traced back the origin of heart-centered view of body, and deepened the understanding on the East Asian medicine view of body including meridian system.
