국문 초록

그레이트 게임(The Great Game)과 간도 및 백두산 변경 획정의 글로벌 히스토리를 구상하기 위해서는 그 시간적 범주를 재구조화하고, 간도문제를 그레이트 게임의 전개과정이라는 거시적인 관점에서 구미 제국주의 열강의 동아시아정책과 연계하여 재구성해 볼 필요가 있다. 본고는 우선 그레이트 게임과 간도문제를 거문도사건과 외교혁명의 국제관계와 관련하여 검토, 비교하는데 초점을 맞춘 것이다. 그것은 동아시아의 지정학적 변화와 간도협약을 둘러싼 국제관계사의 전후 맥락을 재구성하고, 이를 토대로 영국의 동아시아 정책과 간도문제를 접속함으로써 일본의 계획된 만한침략정책, 소위 「고무라 외교」의 침략적 실상을 밝힌 것이다. 이 같은 구상은 또한 트랜스내셔널하고 글로벌한 역사의 장을 마련함으로써, 간도와 백두산 연구의 지평을 확대하려는 것이다

영문 초록

This paper is to be an introductory attempt to make global history related on the Great Game and the demarcating border of Gando and Baekdu Mountain. In addition to the existing historical discourse, by establishing a transnational and global historical arena, the plan is to expand the horizons of the study of Gando and Mt. Baekdu. In order to achieve this, it is first necessary to restructure the temporal categories of the study on the making border of Gando and Mt. Baekdu, and then to reorganize the Gando problem from a global historical perspective. In this study, the period from Gamgye Negotiation in the 1880s to the 1909 Gando convention was defined as the time range, and the process of defining the borderline process of Gando and Mt. Baekdu was described as the imperial process. It is to reconstruct the context of the international relations surrounding geopolitical changes and the 1909 Gando convention in East Asia. Based on this, I will try to reconsider and analyze the correlation between the Great Game and Gando problem with Japanese policy, from the perspective of a new world history.(Seoul National University of Education)
