연좌제와 출신성분의 규정력을 통해 본 해방 후 북한의 가족정책

국문 초록

해방 후 북한은 가족관계에 연좌제를 적용하였다. 주로 좌익 가정에 적용되었던 남한의 연좌제와 달리, 북한의 연좌제는 지주ㆍ친일파ㆍ월남자ㆍ기독교도 등의 가정에 이르기까지 광범하게 적용되었다. 출신성분에 따른 차별은 북한의 연좌제를 구성한 핵심 요소였다. 출생 당시 부모의 직업을 의미하는 출신성분은 가족 구성원들을 하나의 계급 틀에 가둠으로써, 국가가 그들을 포섭하거나 배제하는 척도로 활용하였다. 이 연구는 개개인들이 작성한 자서전과 그들을 평가한 당국자들의 평정서에 기초하여, 연좌제가 적용된 북한의 가족문화를 살펴보고자 한다. 아울러 마르크스주의적 계급관을 현실에 적용한 북한이 상이한 계급의 가정에 어떠한 접근법을 구사 했는지 규명하고자 한다. 자서전 자료는 역사의 현장에 있었던 이들의 목소리를 통해 당대의 시 대상과 사회상을 생생히 드러낸다. 당대인들의 활동은 물론 내면세계에까지 접근한 이 연구는 그들의 경험 조각들을 하나하나 이어 붙여, 북한의 가족 정책과 계급 정책을 사회사적ㆍ일상사적 관점에서 재구성하고자 한다.

영문 초록

After the liberation, North Korea applied an implicative system to family relations. Unlike the South Korean implicative system, which was mainly applied to left-wing families, in North Korea it was widely applied to landowning, pro-Japanese, and Christian families, and so on. Discrimination based on the family class was a key element of the implicative system in North Korea. The family class, which meant the parental occupation at the time of birth, was used as a measure for the state to subsume or exclude family members by putting them into a single class frame. This study will examine the family culture of North Korea based on autobiographies written by individuals and the evaluation documents written by officials who evaluated them. In addition, it will investigate how North Korea, which tried to put the Marxist perspective on class into practice, handled families belonging to various classes. The autobiographies reveal vivid images of the times through people’s voices. By considering individuals’ inner world as well as the activities of contemporaries, this study will try to reconstruct North Korea s family and class policies from the perspectives of social and everyday history by piecing these experience fragments together.
