국문 초록

  오늘날 인터넷은 우리 사회의 중요한 생활환경이며 문화현상이다. 인터넷이 보편화되면서 근본주의적 반문화의 태도를 지닌 교회와 신학자들 사이에 인터넷에 대한 비판적 논의는 줄어들고, 대신 인터넷의 새로운 가능성에 매료되는 교회와 신학자들이 늘어나고 있다. 교회마다 홈페이지가 만들어지고 멀티미디어를 활용한 교육방법이 시도되고 있다. 하지만 인터넷은 단지 기술적 수단을 넘어 새로운 세계관과 의사소통방식을 내포하는 문화현상이어서 보다 개방적이고 심층적인 신학적 접근을 필요로 한다. 특별히 인터넷은 수많은 윤리적 문제들을 제기하고 있어 이에 대한 비판적 성찰과 책임의식을 요청하고 있다.
  기독교윤리는 인터넷이 지닌 사회문화적 의미를 신학적으로 해명하고, 인터넷 사용자나 생산자의 윤리의식의 결여로 생겨나는 수많은 윤리문제들을 해결하는데 도움을 주어야 한다. 그러기 위해서는 인터넷을 악마화하는 태도나 반대로 우상화하는 태도를 버리고 보다 나은 인터넷 문화를 발전시키기 위한 비판적 참여의 태도, 즉 책임윤리적 태도가 필요하다. 이를 위해 기독교윤리는 인터넷 사용자와 생산자의 개인윤리적 덕목을 고양시키며, 개인의 프라이버시나 정치경제적 형평성을 실현하기 위해 인터넷을 둘러싼 사회구조적 차원과 제도적 차원에 관심해야 하고, 인터넷 생산자나 사업자와 같은 전문가들의 전문직 윤리의식을 강화하고, 인터넷의 전 세계적 영향력에 상응하는 보편적 세계윤리의식을 고양시키며, 인터넷 교육과정을 통해 윤리의식을 함양하는 데 관심을 기울여야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

  This article aims to investigate the theological foundation and practical tasks of the internet ethics from the perspective of Christian ethics. Today, the internet has become an indispensible instrument for everyday life in our culture. As a result of spreading of the internet, the critical argumentation against the internet by the theological fundamentalists has decreased. Every church operates her own homepage and tries to utilize the multimedia for church education. However, we need a critical approach and an in-depth analysis in our church on the internet culture based on theology, because the internet is not a mere technical means but a cultural phenomenon, expressing new world-views and creating new communication methods. Especially, the internet causes many ethical problems such as internet addiction, computer crimes, pornography, spam-mail, hacking, cyber stalking, etc.
  Christian ethics should try to elucidate the socio-cultural and socio-political implications of the internet from the perspective of theology and help to overcome the ethical problems caused by a lack of morality in the use of the internet and its production. It requires a responsible ethical approach against the internet for the purpose of humanization instead of demonization or idolization of the internet. In the concrete, it should develop the netiquette on the side of the users, make a institutional regulations and laws for protecting the privacy and the socio-political equity, strengthen the ethical responsibility of the computer professionals, and enhance the global ethical consciousness of the internet users as well as the internet producer to meet the global needs of the internet.
