세 유형의 철학적 신

국문 초록

본고는 폴 리꾀르, 타나베 하지메 그리고 양명수가 말하는 세 가지 유형의 철학적 신론을 분석하였다. 필자는 이 세 학자들이 논하는 신론을 '무'라는 용어를 중심으로 볼 때 공통점이 드러난다고 전제하였다. 우선, 필자는 집행관으로서의 신, 아버지로서의 신의 죽음을 말하는 폴 리꾀르의 무신론(無神論)을 살폈다. 프랑스의 현대 철학자 폴 리꾀르는 형이상학적 신의 죽음 이후에 이 세상에서 시적으로, 그리고 창조적으로 삶을 살아야 하는 인간이 도래함을 주장한다. 그 다음, 일본의 교토학파의 철학자 타나베 하지메는 무즉신론(無卽神論)을 전개한다. 이는 기존의 서구의 무신론과는 결을 달리하는 무신론이다. 그는 유 또는 존재가 아닌 무와 관련지어 신을 논하는 신론을 제안한다. 타나베 하지메에게서 무는 사랑이요 자기 비움이며, 그는 이러한 신을 기독교가 말하는 십자가에 매달려 죽음으로 신의 사랑을 구현한 예수 그리스도에게서 본다. 마지막으로 동서 인문주의와 퇴계학에 바탕을 두고 있는 양명수는 무능신론(無能神論)을 말한다. 무능신론은 두 가지 의미를 담고 있다. 첫째, 신이 십자가에 매달려 죽었다는 의미에서 '무능'한 신에 관한 신학적 사유라는 의미를 담고 있다. 둘째, '무에 능한 신'에 관한 담론이라는 의미를 갖고 있다. 성리학의 무극과 연결될 때 무에 능한 신은 생태학적 의미를 지닌다. 결국 양명수의 무능신론은 신의 은총과 인간의 주체성 그리고 생태학적 감수성을 종합하고자 하는 신론이라고 하겠다. 무라는 단어를 중심으로 전개되는 세 학자들의 철학적 신론은 아시아적 종교 문화의 토양 속에서 새로운 신의 도래를 꿈꾸는 이들에게 새로운 통찰을 줄 것이라 믿어 의심치 않는다.

영문 초록

The object of this article is to analyze three types of theory of philosophical God that Paul Ricoeur, Tanabe Hajime and Yang Myung-Su have constructed. My supposition, for this work, is that a point in common of these three thinkers is appeared when we examine their theory of God with term 'nothingness'. I' examine, firstly, the theory of atheism of Paul Ricoeur who says the death of God as the legislator and as the father. Paul Ricoeur, a contemporary philosopher of France, insists on the advent of man who has to live poetically and creatively in this world after the death of metaphysical God. And then on the other side of this theory of atheism, Tanabe Hajime, philosopher of Kyoto school of Japan, proposes another perspective about philosophical God, compared with a western theory of atheism, and another theory of God constructed with term 'nothingness' in Asian context. It's a theory of 'nothingness qua God'. For Tanabe Hajime, nothingness is love and self-emptying. He sees this kind of God in Jesus Christ of the Christianity, who realized concretely the love of God, on being crucified on the cross. Lastly, I treat on the theory of philosophical God of Yang Myung-Su, based on the humanism and specially on the neo-Confucianism of Toegye. I name it a theory of 'incapable God'. His theory of incapable God includes two meanings. The first is a theological reflection about God who has been died on the cross. The second is a reflexive discourse of God, centering on term 'nothingness', a God who is, for Yang Myung su, self-abandoned and loves all human beings until his death on the cross. This God has created the world and all human beings, but he does not possess the human being, does not consider it like an object for his proper glory. This God meets the human being as his partner and dialogues with him.
