비판적 다문화 담론과 한국적 다문화주의에 관한 연구

국문 초록

최근 다문화주의의 논의는 강대국들의 자국민 우선주의에 막혀 그 설득력을 잃어가고 있다. 특히 한국 사회가 비록 빠른 속도로 과거에 경험하지 못했던 다문화 사회로 변화되어가고는 있지만, 여전히 대한민국은 한민족 중심의 민족 공동체성을 유지하고 있다. 심지어 이것은 통일 한국을 앞둔 현실에서 더욱 강화될 전망이다. 본 논문의 목적은 이와 같은 다문화주의의 위기 상황에서 그 대안으로 열린 민족주의를 기반으로 한 ‘한국적 다문화주의’를 탐색하는 데 있다. 따라서 연구자는 한국적 다문화주의로서 ‘풍류도 모델’을 제시하였다. 연구자는 한국 기독교의 다문화 교육을 위한 한 모델로서 풍류도 모델을 제안하면서, 그것을 세 가지의 주제로 더 세분하여 탐색하였다. 첫째, 한국인의 영성으로 불리는 풍류도를 ‘하늘’ (天) 신앙에 근거한 ‘하늘 잔치와 예술의 어울림’으로 재개념화하였다. 둘째, ‘풍류도’가 역사적으로 어떻게 이해되어왔는지를 설명하면서, 통일 신라 시대 최치원에 의해 소개된 ‘화랑 풍류도’, 그리고 조선 말 동학에 의해 소개된 ‘시천주 풍류도’를 살펴보았다. 그리고 최근 다문화 시대 및 통일 한국 사회에 요구되는 제3의 풍류도로서 ‘하늘 풍류도’의 가능성을 고찰하였다. 셋째, ‘하늘 풍류도 모델’의 의미는 포함 삼교적 하느님 신앙, 유무 상자의 하늘 잔치성, 그리고 풍류 미학적 예술성을 함축한 것으로 제시되었다. 그리고 본 논문은 하늘 풍류도의 심화된 이해를 이해 ‘하늘 신학’의 논의가 시급히 활성화될 필요성을 강조하였고, 한 국적 다문화주의의 한 이론으로서 본 이론이 그 성과를 얻기 위해 다문화 가정을 위한 구체적인 교육 과정 개발과 실천의 필요성을 지적하였다.

영문 초록

Recently, the discussion of multiculturalism has been losing its presence in academic discussion due to insular political movements like “America First!” Although Korean society is changing rapidly into a multicultural society in a way that has not been experienced in the past, South Korea is still strengthening the national community centered on the Korean people. This approach is even expected to be further strengthened in a unified Korea. The purpose of this paper is to explore ‘Korean multiculturalism’ based on open nationalism as an alternative in this crisis situation of multiculturalism. Therefore, the researcher presented ‘Pungryudo (風流道) model’ as a Korean expression of multiculturalism. The researcher proposes it as a model for multicultural religious education in Korea and explores it in more detail by dividing it into three themes. First, the author re-conceptualizes Pungryudo, which is called “the feast of heaven and artistic togetherness” based on “Heavenly” (天) faith. Secondly, the author also historically examines ‘Hwarang (花郞) Pungryudo’, which was introduced by Choi Chiwon (崔致遠) of Unified Silla Dynasty, and ‘Sicheonju (侍天主) Pungryudo’, introduced by Joseon Dynasty Donghak (東學) . In addition, the possibility of ‘Heavenly (天) Pungryudo’ as a third kind of culture which is required for the multicultural era and unified Korean society is examined. Third, the meaning of ‘Heavenly Pungyudo model’ implies the inclusion of the faith in the triune God, the feast of sharing things and life, and the aesthetic artistry of beauty. In addition, this paper emphasized the necessity of the discussion of the ‘theology of Heaven (天) ’ to understand the heavenly culture. As a theory of Korean multiculturalism, this theory has developed a concrete curriculum for multicultural families and the necessity of practice.
