국문 초록

본 연구는 신용보증기관에서 창업보증을 지원 받은 창업중소기업의 비재무정보를 활용하여 여성창업기업과 남성창업기업의 생존특성을 비교분석하였다. 생존분석 방법론인 카플란마이어분석을 통해 여성창업기업과 남성창업기업의 생존특성별 생존율 및 평균생존시간을 추정하고 생존시간에 영향을 미치는 주요 변수를 비교분석 하였다. 연구에 이용된 자료는 신용보증기관에서 창업보증을 지원 받은 중소기업을 대상으로 업체수는 여성창업기업 1,443개, 남성창업기업 8,596개로 총 10,039개이다. 생존율을 비교한 결과 여성창업기업의 생존율이 남성창업기업 보다 낮게 나타났다. 생존특성을 비교해 보면 여성창업기업의 유의한 변수는 개인신용등급, 동업계종사유무, 거주주택보유유무, 재무제표보유유무 등 4개 변수가 선정되었으며, 남성창업기업의 유의한 변수는 개인신용등급, 동업계종사유무, 사업장보유유무, 거주주택보유유무, 여신거래실적유무, 재무제표보유유무 등 6개 변수가 선정되었다. 여성창업기업과 남성창업기업의 생존특성에 관한 비교분석 결과를 통해 다음과 같은 시사점을 도출하였다. 첫째, 창업지원기관은 여성창업기업 신용평가시스템 개발을 통해 여성창업기업에 대한 적극적인 지원이 필요하다. 둘째, 신용보증기관과 금융기관의 업무협약을 통한 여성창업특례보증 상품개발하고, 자금지원제도 개선으로 여성창업을 실질적으로 확대해야 한다. 이와 같은 분석결과는 여성창업자와 창업지원기관에게 유용한 정보를 제공하여 창업기업의 부실을 최소화하여 생존율을 높이는데 기여할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the survival characteristics of female startups and male startups by using nonfinancial information of entrepreneurial SMEs supported by a guarantee agency. Survival rate and average survival time of survivors of female entrepreneurs and male entrepreneurs were estimated through Kaplan-Meier analysis. The data used in this study are 10,039 companies, of which 1,443 are female entrepreneurs and 8,596 are male entrepreneurs. Survival rates of female entrepreneurs were lower than those of male entrepreneurs. In terms of survival characteristics, four variables were selected, including the personal credit rating, occupation in the industry, the presence of residential housing, and the presence of financial statements. The significant variables of the male entrepreneurship were personal credit rating , Whether or not they engaged in the industry, whether they had business sites, whether they had residential properties, whether they had gross trading results, and whether they had financial statements. The results of empirical analysis on the survival characteristics of female entrepreneurs and male entrepreneurs are as follows. First, entrepreneurship support agencies need to actively support women entrepreneurs through the development of a credit evaluation system for women entrepreneurs. Second, women’s entrepreneurship special guarantee products should be developed through business agreements between credit guarantee institutions and financial institutions, and female entrepreneurship should be substantially expanded by improving the financial support system. The results of this analysis will contribute to increase the survival rate by minimizing the insolvency of startups companies by providing useful information to female founders and startups support organizations.
