국문 초록

본 연구는 시각장애인의 문화향유권 향상을 위한 방안 마련의 일환으로, 시각장애인의 전시예술품 감상과정을 이해하고, 그 결과에 기초하여 지원전략을 모색하고자 시행되었다. 연구를 위해 Yin (2005)의 사례연구방법을 활용하여 전맹과 저시력을 포함한 시각장애인 10명에 대한 심층인터뷰를 진행하였다. 연구결과 시각장애인들은 잔존시력, 다중감각, 보조기기를 활용하여 전시예술품을 감상하고 있었다. 전시예술품 감상을 통해 시각장애인들은 제한된 감각의 재인식, 주체적 앎의 확장, 동동한 참여의 권리인식, 동시대를 함께 살아간다는 충족감을 경험하는 한편, 전시예술품 감상과정에서 접근 ⋅이용⋅이동의 장해들을 경험하고 있었는데, 이러한 장해 제거를 위한 감상 가능한 편의시설과 경험 가능한 전시기회의 제공을 바라고 있었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 시각장애인이 경험 가능한 전시환경 조성을 위한 기초연구와 과학기술⋅인문사회⋅문화예술영역 간 융합연구의 활성화, 그리고 스스로 문화예술을 감상할 수 있는 공간 마련 등의 실천적 방안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the experience process of exhibition-artwork by the visually impaired and to find a support strategy based on the result. For the study, Yin s case study method was used to conduct in-depth interviews with 10 visually impaired people including blind and low vision. As a result of the research, the visually impaired people were watching the exhibition artwork by using the residual vision, multiple senses and ancillary equipment. Through the appreciation of exhibition artworks, the blind people experienced the recognition of limited sense, expansion of subjective awareness, awareness of the right of participatory participation. On the other hand, the blind people were experiencing the obstacles of accessibility, utilization, and mobility in the process of appreciating the exhibition arts, and hoped to be provided with convenience facilities and exhibition opportunities to eliminate such obstacles. Based on the results of the study, we presented an academic and practical implications needed to create an exhibition environment suited for the visually impaired.
