영문 초록

May 1968, french society was shaken by student movement raised at Nanterre University in the outskirts. The events brought on anti-vietnam war movement was watched worlds ears and eyes. Because it was dynamic and mass mobilization of a large scale. But a rupture between a process and political effects brought a heated argument. Like showing a argument from everythings happen to strengthening bourgeois capitalism , interpretations of may movement run to an extreme. And as political disposition of participants was diverse and a scale was small, nobody had the movement s initiative. So, this thesis tried to understand may movement wasn t taken the initiative of special faction but what may movement was self-expression positions of masses, and then to show this is the positive points of may movement. Because post-war restorations had pursued effective economic development, French society had been made a stubborn organization from above. Personal determination of authority was important than diverse opinion of ordinary people and masses fell over passive being. In particular university student was isolated being in twentieth century that haven t economic ability and social rights of speech. Rigidity and solidity of the french society in 1968 was broken with a small opposition of students. But may movement wasn t the opposition of one thing and had not the alternative. It was showed diverse oppositions of diverse authority based in every place. And the subject was nt political faction(groupuscule), but masses that had lost rights of speech and thinking. The masses represented self-expression with graffitti and confused debates, and this is the image of may movement. Besides, self-determining masses constructed new organisation of new society. Comite d Action was self-governing organisations that showed masses ability of running society during the movement, and this connected to focus on a direct democracy complements representative democracy. Focus on direct democracy was formulated as autogetion , and this directed french society. But, a month s short experiences was not to be enough to politicalize people s power. Therefore, result of may movement wasn t visible thing, but invisible things which penetrate a participant s life. May movement didn t structuralize, but was self-consciousness of personal autonomous life. And this continued new social movement in 1970s.
