국문 초록

북한에게 있어 미국은 주적의 대상이든 협상의 대상이든 대내통합과 체제유지를 위해 관계할 수밖에 없는 국가이다. 북한은 정권수립이후부터 줄곧 미국에 대한 적대감을 강조하여 왔으며 탈냉전이후 미국과 관계개선을 시도하는 시점에서도 변화되지 않았다. 이 같은 북한의 대미적대인식은 정권과 체제유지를 위해 필요한 것이며 경제지원과 체제보장을 위해 미국과 관계를 개선해야하는 현실에서도 지속될 수 있는가의 문제가 제기된다. 이 논문은 이런 문제를 규명하기 위해 『역사과학』, 『조선전사』를 비롯한 북한의 역사서를 중심으로 역사서술 속의 대미인식의 특징을 살펴보려는 것이다. 북한의 역사서술 속의 대미인식은 시종일관 적대적으로 미국은 개항초기부터 최근에 이르기까지 한반도를 동아시아와 세계정복을 위한 전초기지로서 식민지화하려고 시도하였고 일본과 공모를 통해 침략을 행했다고 한다. 이 같은 북한의 대미인식은 북한의 역사서술이 정치적인 필요성에 의해 행해져 은폐, 강조, 조작 등의 가능성을 배제할 수 없으며 다분히 사후적인 해석의 경향을 띠고 있었다. 그러나 북한은 현 체제를 유지하는 한 미국과 관계개선이 희박하므로 대미적대인식을 청산하지 못할 것이며 북한의 역사서 속의 대미인식이 적대적인 것은 이 같은 현실을 반영한 것이기 때문이다.

영문 초록

The North Korea can not help being connected with the U.S. in order to maintain her system and unite her people. The North Korea think of the U.S. both an object of enemy and an object of partnership. The North Korea have been hostile to the U.S. all along since the establishment of government and this do not change in spite of trying to improve relation between North Korea and U.S. after the post-cold war. The North Korea s hostile perception toward the U.S is indispensible for maintaining her system and government. But North Korea don t have to improve the relations with U.S. so as to ask for economic assistance and guarantee her system. For this reality, the North Korea s hostile perception toward the U.S is posed a problem to keep up. This paper intend to look into the features of perception toward the U.S. described in North Korean history books including the 『historical science』, 『Korean history of war』, and other North Korean history books. The perception toward the U.S. described in North Korean history books have consistently been opposed. The North korea have looked on the U.S. that have attempted to colonialize the Korean peninsular as outpost base for subjugating the East-Asian and the world from early in the opening of a port to recently. And the North Korea have considered that this act of aggression of U.S. have been realized with conspiring together the Japan. This perception of the North Korea toward the U.S. is a kind of ex post facto explanation and is likely to conceal and manipulate or emphasize because the North Korea s history is described as occasion political demands. But the hostile perception of the North Korea toward the U.S. do not change as long as the North korean s existing system is maintained. And this cause to hard to improve relations between the North Korea and the U.S. Also this reality force to perceive and describe the U.S. as opponent in the North Korean history hooks.
