국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 일제의 일상적 식민통치에 의해 형성된 식민지 시기 사회세력이, 해방후 제헌국회의 정치세력 형성과 어떠한 연관성을 가지고 있는지를 실증적으로 고찰하려는 것이다. 이를 해명하기 위해서 식민지 시기 제헌의원의 정치적 경력을 분석하고, 특히 농촌사회조직과 연계되어 성장한 대일협력 제헌의원들을 고찰하였다. 19세기말 아시아 제국은 국민국가의 정치적 독립과 근대화라는 두 개의 역사적 과제에 직면했으나, 조선은 일본의 식민지로 전락하였다. 식민당국은 새로 성장하는 집단을 중심으로 식민통치의 협조세력인 농촌진흥회 및 각종 조합의 간부, 그리고 「중견인물」을 양성했다. 신생 한국의 정치적 목표는 식민지성을 부정하는 독립이었다. 그러나 이들은 신생 한국의 정치세력의 형성에 주된 영향을 미쳤다. 그것은 독립과 근대화가 동일한 정치적 주체에 의해 이루어지지 않았던 식민지 역사의 산물이며, 현대한국정치가 해결해야 할 과제였다.

영문 초록

This paper intends to make a actual research on which interrelations the social forces of Japanese colonial period had with the formation of political forces in Korean Constitutional Assembly. For this purpose, I analyzed many congressmen careers. Especially, I examined into those of pro-Japanese congressmen, who made their careers in rural social organization in the reign of Japanese Imperialism. In the late 19th century, most of Asian countries had confronted with two critical historical tasks, the political independence and modernization. But Chosun Dynasty failed to response to those challenges. At last, she fell to Japanese colony. For efficient rule, the colonial authority trained leading figures , who were the leading members in Rural Promotion Association and various cooperations, the collaborator of Japanese colonial rule. In the new Korea, therefore, the first political task was to deny all colonial inheritance. That was essential for the real independence. But the pro-Japanese political forces exerted considerable influences on the founding of new nation s political forces. That resulted from the historical condition that the political subjects for independence and modernization was different from each other. The solution of this contradiction was the primary task of modern Korean politics.
