Effects of Psychological Style on Choosing the Asynchronous and the Synchronous Media

국문 초록

전자우편과 실시간 대화용 앱의 사용량이 획기적으로 증가하고 있다. 개인의 심리적 특성과 의사소통 방식간 관계성에 대한 선행연구는 많으나 온라인 활동에 심리적 요인이 미치는 영향 에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구는 온라인 활동에서 심리적 형태별로 온라인 매체의 선호차이를 연구하였다. 총146표본의 데이터를 수집하고, 141개의 유효한 데이터를 이용하여 연결망 분석기법을 적용하였다. 분석결과 상호 다른 심리적 형태를 가진 집단간 차이점을 보였다. 즉 내향적이고 사고형의 사람들은 실시간 대화용 앱을 많이 사용하는 반면 외향적이고 사고형인 사람의 경우는 전자우편을 선호하는 것으로 차이점을 보였다. 전자우편의 경우는 주로 업무용으로 사용하는 경우가 많은 반면, 대화용 앱의 경우는 사적인 목적으로 사용하는 경우가 많다. 또한 전자우편의 경우는 비동기적 매체이나 실시간 대화용 앱의 경우는 동기적 매체의 특성이 강하다. 연구결과는 사회연결망 연구와 이비즈니스 등의 경영전략 수립에 시사점을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The use of electronic mail and messenger software tools has been increased rapidly over a decade. Compared to the variety of research related to the relationship between personal psychological traits and communication modes, effects of human psychology on online activities have only recently become a focus of interest. This research analyzed the relationship between personal psychological type and online connectivity. Researcher employed network analysis methodology and collected and analyzed data from 146 subjects. Significant differences in network measures were found among groups with different psychological style. Findings of the research can provide several implications for managerial activities regarding social connectivity.
