‘보건과 사회과학’ 발전방향 모색을 위한 역사적 고찰

국문 초록

한국보건사회학회의 학회지인 ‘보건과 사회과학’은 2017년 창간 20주년을 맞이하게 된다. 새로운 도약을 위해 이 시점에서 과거를 되돌아 볼 필요성이 제기된다. 이에 본고는 창간호가 발간된 1997년부터 2014년까지 총 18년간 발간된 ‘보건과 사회과학’에 대한 고찰에 그 목적을 두었다. 개괄적 특징, 구성분석, 교신저자분석 및 연구유형분석의 4가지 고찰 도구가 이를 위해 선택되었다. 그간 출간된 총 36권의 학회지와 표지, 목차, 게재된 총 281개의 논문, 투고규정, 편집위원회 구성 명단 및 공지사항 등 ‘보건과 사회과학’의 과거 기록에 대해 아날로그적 보고와 기술을 시도하였다. 자료의 요약?정리를 위해 최소한의 기술통계를 사용하였다. ‘보건과 사회과학’의 역사적 고찰을 통해 초기의 토대구축기로부터 외형적 성장시기인 발달기를 거쳐 양적성장과 경제적 안정기로 진입한 세 단계의 발달과정을 확인하였다. ‘보건과 사회과학’의 지속적인 미래 발전을 위해서는 다음과 같은 보완 노력의 필요성이 관찰되었다. 편집위원장의 장기적 안정성과 편집위원회의 전문성 확보, ‘보건과 사회과학’ 정체성의 재정립, 학회지의 구조적 체계 확립, 논문투고자의 지역적 편중성 극복, 게재논문의 다양화, 질적인 논문 발굴의 필요성, 편집 및 인쇄와 관련된 오류예방 등이 그것이다. ‘보건과 사회과학’의 역사적 발전사에 대한 고찰은 결국, 다양한 인적자원의 확보와 그들의 적극적 참여의식에 토대한 기여수준이 미래 발전의 관건임을 재확인하는 계기가 되었다.

영문 초록

The first journal of ‘the Korean association of health and medical sociology’ was published in 1997 entitled ‘Health and Social Science(HASS)’. The 20th anniversary of the HASS will come in two years. This study examined the annals of the journals and the characteristics of those articles for a period of last 18 years. It could be an essential prerequisite to provide its completeness for the 20th anniversary commemorative issue. Four variables were chosen for the purpose of this study. Those were historical characteristics, editing configurations, corresponding authors and research methods used in each article. This descriptive study included 36 journals, 281 articles, 36 contents & contribution rules, materials of the editorial board and notices and so on. Data were summarized using descriptive statistics. Three periods of the historical development were verified: 6 years of a formative period, 8 years of a developing period and 4 years of a ongoing expanding period. Some of complementary measures were found in order to improve on the HASS. That is, securing stabilities and expertises of the editor-in-chiefs, reestablishment of identity on the HASS, a design to strengthen systematization of the editing system, deconcentration of the contributors, diversification of the publication type and prevention of the errors in relation to editing and printing. This historical consideration on the HASS made a request for further growth. Securing various and rich in human resources are the key to the achievement. Besides, their active and voluntary participations, and building a supportive environment to encourage the participations are critical tasks for the successful future of HASS.
