국문 초록

본 연구에서는 지진파 전달에 따른 지진동의 거리별 감쇄 특성을 표현하는 지진동감쇄식(Ground-motion attenuation relation) 또는 거리감쇄식(Distance attenuation relation)의 적용성에 대한 검토를 수행하였다. 국내에서 제안된 대표적인 세 가지 지진동 감쇄식을 검토하였고, 대상 지진은 2016년 경주지진(M5.8)과 2017년 포항지진(M5.4)을 포함하여 M2.0이상의 지진 15개를 대상으로 하였다. 신뢰성 분석을 위해 지진시 계측된 지표최대가속도(PGA, Peak Ground Acceleration)에 대해 평균제곱근오차(RMSE, Root Mean Square Error)와 상관계수(R, Coefficient of Correlation)를 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 국내 지진규모 M4.0이상의 지진, 특히 M5.0이상의 경우는 Yun et al. (2008)에 의한 거리감쇄식의 신뢰성이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study examined distance attenuation equations in which the damping characteristics of the earthquake motion are determined by the distance effect based on the transmission of seismic waves. The study examined three distance attenuation equations proposed in Korea and 15 earthquakes of magnitude M2.0 or higher, including the 2016 Gyeongju earthquake (M5.8) and the 2017 Pohang earthquake (M5.4). To evaluate the reliability of the distance attenuation equations, the root mean square error and coefficient of correlation obtained from the peak ground accelerations (PGAs) recorded during the targeted earthquakes were compared. From the PGA comparisons, the equation by Yun et al. (2008) was shown to match well with the observed PGA distance relationship for earthquake magnitudes exceeding M4.0, especially those over M5.0.
