영도( 影島)의 문화유산을 활용한 인성교육 활성화 방안

국문 초록

최근 들어 국가 차원에서 ‘인문도시’ 사업을 추진하는 배경에는 역사문화 자산 활용도를 극대화하려는 의지가 담겨 있다. 한 지역의 시공간적 ‘문화 기억’을 상징화하기 위해서는 그 지역의 역사적 정체성과 상징성을 부각시킬 수 있는 형태로 문화자산을 재코드화(recodification)한 뒤, 후세대들의 공감과 공명을 이끌어 낼 수 있는 방안을 적극적으로 모색해야 할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해서는 스토리의 주된 구성 요소라 할 수 있는 역사적 인물과 사건, 그리고 자연문화자산이 갖는 고유의 메시지를 포괄하고, 이를 후대들을 위한 교육 콘텐츠로 재구성하는 작업이 필요해 보인다. 이러한 문제의식을 가지고 본 연구는 부산 영도(影島)의 문화유산을 후세대들의 ‘인성교육’을 활성화하기 위한 적극적 수단으로 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 구체적인 방법론으로는 인성교육의 주요 핵심 덕목들과 스토리텔링 전문가 스티븐 데닝이 제시한 네러티브 패턴을 유기적으로 접목시키는 방식을 택했다. 인성 덕목과 네러티브 패턴을 통해 영도의 문화유산을 유의미한 교육모델로 재탄생시키려는 접근 방식은 선례 가 없는 독창적인 시도가 될 것이다. 본 연구는 영도의 문화유산과 인성교육 간의 시너지 효과를 극대화하기 위해 프랑스 사회학자 부르디외(Pierre Bourdieu)가 제시한 ‘아비투스(habitus)’ 개념을 활용하고자 한다. 아비투스란 사회‧문화적 환경에 따라 후천적으로 길들여진 집단적 성향 또는 시대정신을 의미한다. 개인의 경험들이 하나하나 쌓여 집단적 문화코드를 형성하게 되고, 궁극적으로 한 집단의 문화적 정체성을 대변하게 되는 것이 아비투스이다. 본 연구는 독일의 문화학자 아스만(Jan Assmann)이 제시한 ‘소통적 기억’과 ‘문화적 기억’의 토대 위에서 영도의 문화유산에 내재된 상징적·심미적·감성적인 가치를 인성교육의 틀로 재조명함으로써 문화유산을 후세대들과 공유하고 공감할 수 있는 체계적이고 입체적인 방안을 모색하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The study aimed to find ways to activate character education using the representative cultural heritage in Busan. The latest push for the humanistic city project at the national level has meant the willingness to maximize historical and cultural assets. To symbolize a region s cultural memory, we need to actively recompose its historical identity and symbolism into a form, and then re-codication of cultural assets. This requires the inclusion of unique messages from historical figures, events and natural cultural assets, the main components of the story, and reconfiguration of these into educational content for future generations. With such a sense of problem, the research suggests that the cultural heritage of Yeongdo in Busan can be utilized as an active tool to promote character education of future generations. Specific methodologies were designed to provide the 8 key virtues of the Personality Education Promotion Act(e.g., hyo, honesty, responsibility, respect, consideration, communication, collaboration) and the 8 behaviors patterns presented by storytelling experts Stephen Denning. An approach to re-generating Yeongdo s cultural heritage into a meaningful model of education through personality virtue and a negative pattern would be an unprecedented and original attempt. The study aims to utilize the concept of Habitus by French sociologists Bourdieu to maximize synergy effects between Yeongdo s cultural heritage and character education. Habitus refers to collective inclination or zeitgeist that has been domesticated according to social and cultural circumstances. As individual experiences accumulate, they form a collective cultural code, and eventually Habitus represents a group s cultural identity. This study seeks to explore the symbolic, aesthetic and emotional value of cultural heritage embedded in Yeongdo, Busan based on the multI-dimensional memory and cultural memories proposed by German cultural scholar Assmann.
