대학생의 인터넷 사용 욕구에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학생들이 인터넷을 사용하면서 무엇을 경험하며, 심리내적으로 추구하는 욕구가 무엇인지 그 의미를 이해하고자 하는 것이다. 현상학적 연구방법에 따라 충청도 H 대학 13명의 대학생을 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하였다. 원자료에서 144개의 중심의미를 추출한 후 다시 24개의 드러난 주제로 하위범주를 구성하였고, 이를 지속적인 비교와 현상학적인 아이디어로 9개의 본질적 주제를 도출해내었다. 분석 결과 드러난 본질적 주제는‘대학생활의 무료함 해소 욕구’,‘스트레스 치유 욕구’,‘유쾌함과 활력 추구 욕구’,‘현실 관계 심화 욕구’,‘대학 생활의 편리와 정보 습득 욕구’,‘새로운 인물·상황에 대한 간접 경험 욕구’,‘예술적 체험의 욕구’,‘자기표현 시도와 교류 욕구’,‘몰입과 성취 욕구’이다. 본 연구는 이전 청소년 대상 연구에서 드러난‘스트레스 해소’뿐만 아니라‘무료함 해소 욕구’도 명확히 드러났으며,‘새로운 인물·상황에 대한 간접 경험 욕구’,‘자기표현 시도와 교류의 욕구’,‘현실관계 심화 욕구’등을 통해 인터넷을 기반으로 하는 관계문화를 형성하고 교류하는 대학생들을 만났다. 그들의 생활 전반에서 ‘생활의 편리와 정보 및 정보습득 욕구’가 드러났으며,‘자기표현 시도와 교류 욕구’를 통해 단순히 새로운 관계를 맺는 것뿐만 아니라 정서적 교류까지 이뤄지는 것이 특징적이며 이와 같은 욕구에 대해 고려를 할 때 좀 더 깊이 있는 상담 및 이해가 이뤄질 수 있음을 알리고자 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine intrapsychic desire of university students to pursue using the Internet by Giorgi s phenomenological method. To achieve this purpose, we collected data through In-depth interviews with thirteen university students in Chungcheong province. 144 factors were drawn from raw data, and twenty-four sub-categories and nine essential topics were derived from persistent comparison and phenomenological ideas. The nine essential topics consist of desire for boredom relief, desire for stress reduction, desire for pleasure and vitality, desire for making their own relationship even better, desire to acquire information and knowledge related to ones daily living, desire for indirect experience of new characters and situations, desire of artistic experience, desire to express oneself and further emotional interchange, and desire for immersion and achievement. The results of the study were as follows: in addition to the stress relieving desire revealed in the previous study, the desire for boredom relief was further elaborated. And desire for indirect experience of new characters and situations , desire to express oneself and further emotional interchange, and desire for making their own relationship even better should imply a culture in which university students interact with each other through the Internet. Desire to acquire information and knowledge related to ones daily living appeared in general. Desire to express oneself and further emotional interchange showed not only self expression through the Internet, but also mutually emotional exchange.
