국문 초록

본 연구는 21세기 지식기반 글로벌 사회에서 교육의 중요한 가치로 여겨지는 장애, 성, 문화 등을 기반으로 하는 다양성 지표를 개발하여 기관의 다양성 수용 및 증진에 기여하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 선행연구 분석을 통해 지표의 틀과 문항을 구성하였고, 두 차례에 걸친 델파이 설문조사와 3차례에 걸친 집단심층면접 결과를 바탕으로 지표를 수정 및 보완하였다. 이러한 절차를 통해 총 14개의 평가영역과 34개의 세부지표로 구성된 다양성 지표가 확정되었다. 지표는 현상을 객관적인 수치로 나타내는 기술적 성격과 변화를 나타내는 규범적 성격을 모두 갖추고 있는 도구로, 본 연구에서 개발한 다양성 지표가 대학 교육의 질을 유지하는 것뿐만 아니라 새로운 대학의 역할이 요구되는 시대적 변화의 흐림 속에 대학의 발전 방향을 설정하는데 필요한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

Diversity is an important value in the knowledge-based and globalized 21st century. The purpose of the study is to develop a diversity indicator to contribute to the acceptance and enhancement of diversity in higher education. In this study, a diversity framework and its indicators were developed by analyzing previous studies regarding university and diversity related indicators. The indicator was revised and complemented through two rounds of delphi surveys and three rounds of focus group interviews. Throughout this process, the indicator, which consists of 14 evaluation areas and 34 specific indicators, was finalized. Indicators are both descriptive and normative in a way that they objectify and quantify the social phenomenon, and also show changes in them. This diversity indicator will offer an abundancy of valuable information that will be needed to maintain education quality and help set university directions for improvement in a time of change.
