국문 초록

전 세계적으로 관광 규모의 확대로 인해 일자리가 창출되고 내수경기 활성화되는 등 관광의 경제적 역할이 커지면서 각국 정부는 관광을 새로운 경제성장 동력으로 상정하고 관련 정책을 수립, 시행하고 있다. 하지만 한국은 2017년 사상 최대의 관광수지 적자를 내면서 이슈가 되고 있는데 그 원인 중에서 중국인 관광객의 한국 방문 감소가 가장 큰 요인으로 분석된다. 해외로 나가는 중국인 관광객 수는 매년 증가하고 있지만, 방한 중국관광객의 재방 문율은 2015년 37.8%에서 2016년 29.5%로 큰 폭으로 하락한 것으로 나타났다. 관광지 재방문은 경제적으로 효율적인 편익을 제공하기 때문에 그 중요성이 높다고 할 수있다 즉, 관광으로 인한 효율적인 경제적 편익을 얻기 위해 새로운 고객을 유치하는 것보다 재방문율을 높이는 것이 더욱 중요한 것이다. 본 연구는 우리나라 관광수지에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 중국인 관광객 중 향후 성장 잠재력이 큰 개별자유여행객의 한국 방문회수에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대해 Ordered Probit 모델로 분석하고 도출된 결과로 정책적 시사점을 제시하고자 한다

영문 초록

While economical aspect of tourism gets growing role as the volume of tourism expands which results in more job creation and expansion in domestic demand, governments set up and initiated related policies by proclaiming tourism as a new driving source of economic development. However, it became a big issue in Korea as tourism deficit in 2017 stood the most ever and one of prominent reason for those deficit was believed to be the plummeted number of Chinese tourist to Korea. There are steady increase in number of Chinese going out on travel to overseas every year, it is not the case in Korea as the number of Chinese tourists to Korea fell from 37.8% from 2015 to 29.5% in 2016. Revisiting a tourist site is considered to be more significant as it provides economically efficient benefit. It means, it is more important to have more repeat travellers than attracting a new tourist to be economically beneficial. This study analysed factors affecting frequency of visit by Chinese FIT which has the greatest potential in influencing tourism profits of Korea among Chinese traveller group through Ordered Probit Model and suggest possible policy implication if necessary.
