국문 초록

이 연구는 대구와 경북 지역 탈북청소년의 국민정체성을 일반청소년의 국민정체성과 비교분석했다. 본 연구자들이 대구와 경북 지역에서 직접 설문조사한 자료를 이용했다. SPSS를 활용해 집단 사이의 국민정체성에 대한 차이를 분석했다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국민의 자격 요건에 대한 인식을 살펴보면, 탈북청소년은 일반청소년보다 ‘한국에서의 출생’과 ‘한국인으로 스스로 느끼는 것’을 덜 중요하게 인식하고 있었고, ‘한국에서의 장기 거주’와 ‘정치제도와 법 존중’은 더 중요하게 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 국가에 대한 애착 정도를 살펴보면, 탈북청소년은 일반청소년보다 ‘종합적으로 한국은 좋은 나라’와 ‘한국이 잘못해도 지지해야 한다’와 ‘세계인이 모두 한국인 같다면 더 좋을 것이다’는 항목에서 더 강한 애착을 보였다. 셋째, 자랑스러운 국가의 필요조건에 대한 태도를 살펴보면, 탈북청소년은 일반청소년보다 ‘민주주의 발전’과 ‘사회보장(복지)제도의 수준’과 ‘공정하고 평등한 사회’를 덜 중요하게 인식하고 있었고, ‘스포츠대회에서의 성적’은 더 중요하게 인식하고 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 두 집단 사이의 국민정체성 차이가 크다는 것을 보여준다. 국민정체성의 차이가 갈등으로 발전하지 않도록 공존의 방안을 모색해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This article studied the national identity of adolescents who live in South Korea. We classified the adolescents into two groups, that is, ordinary adolescents and North Korean refugee adolescents(below, OA and NA). We compared the differences of the national identity among these two groups, focusing on NA. We used our own survey data on adolescents of Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions. The collected data were analyzed by the SPSS. The results are as follows. First, in reference to the qualification of nationhood, the response level of NA was lower than that of OA in the items of ‘To be born in Republic of Korea(=ROK)’ and ‘To think of themselves as the citizens of ROK’, And the response level of NA was higher than that of OA in the items of ‘To live long in ROK’ and ‘To conform to the political institutions and laws of ROK’. Second, in relation to the national attachment, the response level of NA was higher than that of OA in the items of ‘ROK is generally a better country than other countries’, ‘I will support ROK even though it commit a fault’ and ‘World will become a better world if the citizens of the other countries be like those of ROK’. Third, in reference to the prerequisites of the national pride, the response level of NA was lower than that of OA in the items of ‘Development of Democracy’, ‘Level of Social Welfare System’ and ‘Social Justice and Equality’, and the response level of NA was higher than that of OA in the items of ‘Excellent Results in International Sports Events’. These results show that the differences in national identity between the two groups are large. So we need to find ways of coexistence that overcomes the differences in national identity. Because the differences in national identity, they can lead to conflict.
