코리안 재즈 스탠더드의 고찰을 통한 재즈 확산 방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 코리안 재즈 스탠더드의 오리지널리티를 고찰하고, 코리안 재즈 스탠더드의 보급을 통해서 지속적인 재즈 확산의 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 코리안 재즈 스탠더드를 창작하고 보급하고 있는 국내 재즈 뮤지션들을 대상으로 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 실시하였고, 이를 통해서 재즈 스탠더드의 개념, 코리안 재즈 스탠더드의 유형, 코리안 재즈 스탠더드 창작의 의의를 고찰함으로써 코리안 재즈 스탠더드 보급을 통한 재즈 확산 방안을 결과로 도출하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 코리안 재즈 스탠더드의 보급을 위한 가이드라인의 제시이다. 이를 위해서는 코리안 재즈 스탠더드를 일목요연하게 소개해줄 수 있는 코리안 재즈 스탠더드 시리즈 음반과 코리안 재즈 스탠더드 송 북(songbook)과 같은 코리 안 재즈 스탠더드 관련 저작물을 출시해야 한다. 다음으로는 지속가능한 코리안 재즈 스탠더드의 창작을 위한 기초적인 저변의 형성이다. 기존의 코리안 재즈 스탠더드 레퍼토리에서 나아가 현재의 젊은 세대들에게도 어필 할 수 있는 성향의 뉴스 탠더드를 창작 및 보급하는 작업이 병행되어야 하며, 예비 뮤지션들이 코리안 재즈 스탠더드에 관심을 갖게 할 수 있는 교육 프로그램의 제시가 필요하다. 마지막으로 재즈 뮤지션들은 코리안 재즈 스탠더드의 창작의 성과를 방송, 이벤트 등을 통해 보다 많은 대중들과 공유할 수 있는 방법을 고민해야하며, 이를 위해서는 적절한 홍보와 매니지먼트가 병행되어야 할 것이다. 본 연구는 코리안 재즈 스탠더드의 가치와 의미에 대해 고찰하고 이를 통하여 코리안 재즈 스탠더드의 콘텐츠적 가치를 확인하고, 궁극적으로는 코리안 재즈 스탠더드의 창작 및 보급을 통한 재즈 창작 및 향유를 위한 저변 확대 및 재즈 확산 방안을 제시한다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study is to consider the originality of Korean jazz standard and to propose an alternative plan for continuous jazz diffusion through the dissemination of Korean jazz standard. In order to achieve this, we carried out a focus group interview targeting domestic jazz musicians, who create and disseminate Korean jazz standard. Throughout the interview we considered the notion of jazz standard, types of Korean jazz standard, significance of Korean jazz standard, thereby we were able to deduce an expansion plan via supply of Korean Jazz standard. The result of this study is as follows. First, the suggestion of guidelines for the Koran jazz standard dissemination. For this achievement, it is required to publish work such as Koran jazz songbooks and series of Korean jazz standard albums whici can clearly introduce Koran jazz standard. In the second place, we need the development of base for a continuous creation of the Korean jazz standard. We, at the same time, have to create and supply a new type of standard which is appealling not only to the existing Korean jazz standard repertories but also to the young generation. We also need to propose an educational program which attracts amateur musicians to jazz standard. Lastly, jazz musicians should think and consider the ways to share results of the creation of the Korean jazz standadrd such as broadcasting and events. In order to accomplish this, appropriate publicity and management should be combined. Our study considered the Korean jazz standard’s value and its meaning. And through this study, we confirmed Korean jazz standard’s content value. Ultimately, it is valueable as we were able to propose the way to expand the base for the jazz enjoyment throuout the creation and dissemination of the Korean jazz standard.
