유아교사의 환경관에 따른 환경행동의 차이

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아교사들의 환경관에 따른 환경행동의 차이를 알아봄으로써 효율적인 유아환경교육을 위한 교사교육의 방향 수립에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하는데 있다. 대구광역시와 경상북도에 재직 중인 유아교사 241명의 설문지를 분석하였다. 유아교사의 환경관에 따른 환경행동의 차이를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아교사들의 환경관은 지속가능발전지향주의가 월등히 높았고, 생태지향주의, 기술지향주의 순으로 나타났다. 환경행동은 모든 영역이 중간이상으로 친환경적인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 환경관의 하위 영역인 인간과 환경 중 인간의 가치, 자연환경의 가치, 인간의 자연에 대한 지배, 환경 생태계의 평형 유지능력에서와 인간 활동과 환경문제 중 자원고갈과 기술개발에서 환경관에 따른 환경행동에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 인간과 환경의 관계와 가치에 대해서는 생태지향주의와 지속가능발전지향주의 환경관을 가진 유아교사들의 환경행동이 친환경적이었고, 인간 활동과 환경문제의 이해와 해결에서는 지속가능발전지향주의 환경관을 가진 유아들이 친환경적 행동을 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study aimed at investigating the differences of early childhood educators environmental behaviors according to the environmental perspectives. This study analyzed the questionnaires received 241 early childhood educators working in the kindergarten and child care center of Daegu city and Gyeongsangbuk-do province. As the results of analyzing environmental perspectives, early childhood educators showed sustainable development-oriented, ecology-oriented, and technology-oriented environmental perspectives in order of frequency. The early childhood educators showed the nature conservation behaviors, the recycling behaviors, and resource saving behaviors in order of frequency. In addition, early childhood educators demonstrated the differences in environmental behaviors in the subareas of environmental perspectives such as the value of human beings, the value of natural environment, the human s domination over the nature, the balance maintenance ability of ecosystem, resource exhaustion and technical development. Early childhood educators having sustainable development-oriented and ecology-oriented environmental perspectives frequently showed the eco-friendly behaviors. These results indicate that the establishment of sustainable development-oriented and ecology-oriented environmental perspectives is necessary to form eco-friendly behavior of early childhood educators for more effective environmental education.
