국문 초록

본 연구는 경기도 초·중·고등학생의 시민의식에 영향을 미치는 개인및 학교 요인을 분석하여 학생들의 시민의식 함양을 위한 시사점을 도출 하였다. 이를 위해 2-수준 다층모형을 이용해 시민의식의 각 하위구인별 분석을 수행하였다. 주요 연구 결과와 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생의 시민의식에는 학생개인의 특성 뿐 아니라 학교 특성이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성별(여), 독서활동, 자아존중감은 시민의식에 영향을 미치는 학생수준의 주요 요인이었다. 셋째, 학교급과 지역규모는 시민의식을 예측하는 학교수준의 주요 요인이었다. 넷째, 학교장의 성별이 여자인 학교의 학생들은 공동체의식과 인권의식이 높았다. 다섯째, 혁신 학교 정책은 학생들의 시민의식 함양에 긍정적으로 작용하였다. 위의 연구 결과를 토대로 다양한 독서 경험 및 활동 장려·지원, 자아존중감 제고 방안 마련, 다양한 교육경험을 획득할 수 있는 풍토 형성, 시민교육 내실 화, 능력에 따른 인력 배치, 혁신학교 사례 확산 등을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors of individual and schools affecting the citizenship of elementary and secondary schools in Gyeonggi-do, thereby to draw suggestions for raising student’s citizenship. For this purpose, the analysis was carried out using a 2-level multi-level model. The main results and implications are as follows. First, Not only individual but also school characteristics influenced the student’s citizenship. Second, gender, reading activity, and self-esteem were the main factors influencing student’s citizenship. Third, educational stage and scale of area were the main factors at the school level that predicted student’s citizenship. Fourth, when the principal was a woman, the student’s sense of community and human rights were high. Fifth, the Innovation school policy worked positively on student’s citizenship. Based on the results of the study, we proposed the supporting diverse reading activities, establishing self-esteem improvement plan, establishing climate to acquire diverse educational experiences, improvement of citizenship education, placement of personnel according to ability, spreading of Innovation school’s cases.
