국문 초록

열대어의 천국이자 세계 최대 산호초 지대인 ‘그레이트 배리어 리프(Great Barrier Reef)’는 호주 퀸즈랜드 본토 북동쪽 해안(Off the east coast of the Queensland mainland)에 위치한다. 2003년에 개봉되어 전 세계를 열광시킨 애니메이션 <니모를 찾아서(Finding Nemo)>(2003)는 이 그레이트 배리어 리프에 살던 한 물고기가 납치된 아들을 찾아 시드니까지 여행을 떠나는 이야기이다. 그래서 이 영화는 크게 두 가지 서사적 줄거리를 가지게 되는데, 하나는 아버지가 아들을 찾아 호주 앞 바다를 종단하는 긴 여행의 여정이고, 다른 하나는 인간에게 잡혀 온 아들 물고기가 어항 속에서 성장하며 탈출의 기회를 노리는 과정이다. 이 두 개의 줄거리는 두 개 서사로 분리되어 아들을 찾는 아버지의 모험과 아버지를 만나기 위한 아들의 탈출로 요약되었다가 결국에는 아들과 아버지의 재회로 마무리된다. 이러한 여정은 아버지에게는 모험의 의미를, 그리고 아들에게는 성장의 기회를 제공하여 인생의 목표로서 바다의 가치를 되새기게 만들고 있다.

영문 초록

The Great Barrier Reef, a tropical fish paradise and the world s largest coral reef, is located on the Queensland mainland off the coast of Australia s mainland. Finding Nemo(2003), an animated cartoon that was released in 2003 and enthralled the world, tells the story of a fish on the Great Barrier Reef traveling to Sydney to find the kidnapped son. So, this film has two big story lines. One is the journey of a long journey where the father searches for his son and crosses the ocean in front of Australia and the other is the process in which the son fish caught by humans grows in the aquarium and seeks an opportunity to escape. These two plots are separated into two episodes, summarized by the adventure of the father seeking the Son and the escape of the Son to meet the Father, and eventually concluded with the reunion of the Son and Father. This journey gives the father the meaning of adventure, and the son an opportunity for growth, raising the value of the sea as the goal of life.
