고구려·부여계 유이민의 남하와 백제 부여씨의 등장

국문 초록

부여씨는 백제의 王姓으로서, 삼국사기 에 의하면 시조 온조왕부터 마지막 의자왕까지 모든 왕이 부여씨였던 것으로 나온다. 그러나 사료와 고고학상의 문제 등을 고려할 때 국가형성기부터 멸망기까지 백제 왕통이 부여씨에 의한 단일 계보로 이어졌다는 것은 신빙성이 낮은 편이다. 백제 건국 설화는 시조에 따라 溫祚, 沸流, 仇台 설화로 나뉜다. 세 시조 설화는 모두 북에서 남으로 이동해 와 정착하였다는 모티프를 공유하고 있다. 백제 건국 세력이 북쪽의 고구려, 부여 지역에서 내려왔음을 보여주는 고고학적 근거는 임진강과 한강 중류역에 집중적으로 분포하는 고구려식 적석총의 존재이다. 특히 비류 설화에 등장하는 비류는 고구려 5부 중 하나인 비류부 및 그 전신인 비류국과 깊은 관계가 있는 것으로 보이는데, 2세기 후반 산상왕의 즉위에 반대해 비류부 세력이 고구려 중앙에서 이탈한 사건을 백제 시조 비류의 남하와 관련지어 볼 수가 있다. 이들 비류 집단은 부여 정체성도 보유하고 있었으므로, 고구려화한 부여계 집단으로 추정된다. 3세기 후반이 되면 선비 모용씨의 흥기로 부여와 고구려는 큰 타격을 입게 된다. 이때는 모용 연으로 끌려간 대규모 사민도 발생하였거니와, 남쪽으로 이동하는 이탈 세력 역시 적지 않게 나오게 된다. 이때 남하한 고구려 부여계 유이민 집단은 상대적으로 높은 선진적인 문화수준을 배경으로 고이왕계에 밀려난 백제의 구 왕족인 온조-초고계와 연합해 고이계를 축출하고 백제 왕권을 차지하게 된 것으로 추정된다. 이것이 곧 백제 부여씨 왕실의 등장 배경이다. 그리고 모용 선비는 4세기 전반에 부여와 고구려 양국에 더욱 큰 타격을 가한다. 다수의 부여인들이 전연으로 끌려갔고, 이들 중 귀족 출신 인물들은 스스로를 부여씨로 칭하며 자신의 부여 정체성을 강조하며 북중국에서 활동하였다. 거의 비슷한 시기에 백제도 본격적으로 부여 씨를 칭한 근초고왕이 등장하게 되는데, 그 역시 부여를 강조함과 동시에 강한 한 문화의 지향성을 보여주고 있어 중국으로 사민된 부여계 집단과의 연관성을 추론할 수 있다. 그리고 이들은 자신 종족의 영웅 왕자인 구태를 시조로 표방하였다.

영문 초록

According to “Samguksagi”, the Buyeo clan succeeded the throne of Baekje, and all the king from Onjo to the last one Uija to be buyeo. However, it is unreliable that the Baekje kingdom led to a single genealogy from the time of the formation of the nation to the time of the destruction, due to the uncertainly of forage and archeology. There are three kinds of traditional stories in foundation of Baekje, Onjo, Biryu and Gutae. All three narrative share a motif that they moved from north to south and settled. The Goguryeo type mooring stone is an archaeological basis that the Baekje founding forces, which are concentrated in the Imjin River and the middle Han River, descended from the Goguryeo area in the north. Particularly, in the late second century, biryu-bu withdrew from the center of Goguryeo opposing the throne of king Sansang, Biryu narrative seems to have deep relationship with biryu-bu, one of the five bu of Goguryeo, and its predecessor biryu-guk. As Biryu group hold an identity as a Buyeo person, they are assumed to be one of Buyeo member that. In the second half of the third century, the Buyeo and Goguryeo suffered a great deal of damage because of Xianbei Murong’s growth. At that time, there was a large-scale of citizens dragged to the Yan of the Murong, and a lot of the emigrants escaping to the south were also many. At that time, the Buyeo and the Goguryeo emigrants group, based on the relatively advanced culture, united with the Onjo-Chogo group which was the royal family of Baekje and ousted the Goi group from the royal family of Baekje. This story provides a background for the appearance of Baekje. For the first half of the 4th century, Murong Xianbei made an bigger blow to both Buyeo and Goguryeo. Many of the Buyeo people were forced out to the former Yan, and among them, the noblemen called themselves Buyeo clan and acted in North China, emphasizing their Buyeo identity. Almost at the same time, the king Geunchogo appeared in Baekje who pushfully emphasized himself Buyeo clan, showed a strong cultural orientation, which could deduce from the relationship with the Buyeo group deporated in the China. And they proclaimed the Gutae, the Prince of the hero of his own tribe, as the progenitor.
