또래상담자의 교육만족과 상담활동에 영향을 미치는 요인

국문 초록

본 연구는 또래상담자의 교육만족과 상담활동에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보기 위한 것으로 실제 학교 현장에서 또래상담 프로그램을 운영할 때 또래상담의 운영 성과가 효과를 발휘하고 또래상담자가 교육 참여 이후 상담활동으로 이어지기 위해서 어떤 부분에 주목해야하는지를 알아보고자 한다. 이를 위해 경기도 소재 초ㆍ중ㆍ고등학교에서 또래상담을 진행하는 학교 중 37개 학교를 선정하여, 각 학교에서 또래상담을 받은 전체 학생 580명을 대상으로 학교변인, 교육변인, 담당자변인, 학생변인, 또래상담자 교육만족도를 평가하여 연구를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 또래상담자의 교육만족에는 학생변인(참여 자발성)이 가장 큰 영향 을 미쳤으며, 다음으로 교육변인(지속성, 진행경험), 학교변인(정규수업편성, 예산 편성) 순으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 또래상담자의 상담활동에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 결과, 학교변인 중에서 ‘정규수업편성’은 연관이 있는것으로 나타났고, ‘예산편성’은 연관이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 교육변인 중에는 ‘지속성’과 ‘추수활동 포함’, ‘진행경험’ 등 모든 변인이 또래상담자의 상담활동과 연관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 담당자변인 중에는 ‘상담전공’이 또래상담자의 상담활동과 연관이 있는 것으로 나타났고, ‘직접진행’은 상담활동과 연관이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통하여 또래상담 교육만족을 높이기 위해서는 실제적으로 참여 자발성을 기초로 한 학생 선발이 무엇보다 중요하며, 경험 있는 강사를 활용하고 정규수업에 편성하여 지속성 있게 교육을 진행해야 하며, 더불어 학교 측의 관심으로 또래상담을 위한 별도의 예산을 편성하여 운영하는 것이 중요할 것으로 보인다. 또한 또래상담 교육 후에 상담활동이 지속적으로 이어지기 위해서는 또래상담을 정규 수업으로 편성하고, 기본교육 이후에 추수활동을 통하여 상담활동을 독려하는 것이 필요한 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study was to examine factors influencing on peer counselors’ training satisfaction and counseling activities. The research tried to find out which factors should be considered when a peer counseling program was implemented in school, to have an effect on peer counseling and to help peer counselors lead to counseling activities after training. A total of 580 students was participated in the study, provided with peer counseling training from 37 elementary, middle, high schools in Gyeonggi Province where the peer counseling program had been implemented. The results of the study were as follows. A student variable(voluntary participation) was the most influential factor on training satisfaction of peer counselors. The next factor was education variables(continuity, experience of performance, followed by school variables(teaching in the regular class, budget compilation). Also, after analyzing influencing factors of peer counseling activities, ‘teaching in the regular class’ was related to the activities while ‘budget compilation’ wasn’t, among the school variables. In the education variables, all the variables of ‘continuity’, ‘including follow-up’, and ‘experience of performance’ were connected with peer counseling activities. Among manager variables, ‘counseling degree’ was associated with peer counseling activities, whereas ‘performance at first hand’ wasn’t. The results gave some implications to promote the satisfaction of the peer counseling program. Above all, student selection based on voluntary participation is important. Second, the program should continue in the regular class, taught by experienced instructors. Along with managing the program, it requires for school to draw up an extra budget for peer counseling. In addition, to lead the training to peer counseling activities, it seems that peer counseling should be included as a regular course, and that follow-up activities after the basic training help encourage peer counseling.
