국문 초록

이 연구는 자신의 목적을 달성시키기 위해 타인의 심리적인 측면을 악용하는 공격 유형인 ‘사회공학적 공격(social engineering attacks)’을 살펴보고, 이를 사회재난의 유형 중, 금융전산 영역(보이스 피싱)의 효과적인 대응방안을 마련하는데 유용한 접근방법이 될 수 있는가를 검토하는 것이 주요 목적이다. 사회재난을 사회공학적 방법으로 접근하고자 하는 것은 그 피해양상이 기술적 방법을 활용하는 것 못지 않게, 사람들간 관계에 의해 발생한다는 부분에 초점을 맞추어 진행하기 때문이다. 즉, 사회재난을 저지르거나 피해를 당하는 사람의 심리적인 부분을 이해하는 것이 필요한데 기존의 대응방법은 대체로 물리적 ㆍ시스템적 접근 방법을 강조하고 있다. 이는 사회재난의 피해를 당했으며 앞으로도 반복적 피해 가능성이 높은 상황은 물리적 ㆍ기술적인 해킹에 취약성을 보이기 때문이 아니라 바로 공격자(social engineer)가 공격대상자의 심리적 부분을 교묘히 이용하는 사회공학적 공격의 접근 과정으로 인하여 발생된다는 것을 의미한다. 이 연구는 이러한 문제인식을 바탕으로 사회공학적 공격의 위험감소 요인을 통해 금융전산 영역(보이스 피싱)에 적용하여 살펴보았다.

영문 초록

This study examines social engineering attacks in the financial area (voice phishing), which is an attack type that exploits the psychological aspects of others to achieve their goals. The main purpose is to examine whether it can be a useful approach to creating effective countermeasures. The social engineering approach to social disasters focuses on the fact that the damage is caused not by technical means, but by people. In other words, it is necessary to understand the psychological part of a person who has committed a social disaster or is being victimized, but existing countermeasures generally emphasize the physical and system approach. It means that the situation where the victim of the social disaster has been suffered and the possibility of repetitive damage in the future is not caused by the weakness of physical or technical hacking but by the attack process of the social engineering attack that exploits the psychological part of the target.This study is applied to the field of financial computing (voice phishing) through risk reduction factors of social engineering attack based on recognition of these problems.
