국문 초록

본 연구는 유아의 정서지능과 유아의 교육기관인 유치원 생활적응의 관계에 대해 살펴보는 것이다. 유아의 정서지능은 유치원적응에 높은 상관관계가 나타나고 있다. 그 중 친사회적정서, 자아강도정서 능력이 유치원 생활적응에 중요한 영향을 주고 있는 요소임을 보여 주고 있다. 친사회적정서, 자아강도정서 능력은 유아 자신뿐만 아니라 주변의 사람이 기쁘거나 불쾌한 기분이 갖고 있을 때, 함께 기뻐해 주거나 그 사람이 불쾌한 감정에서 벗어나도록 도와주고 기쁘게 해주려고 노력하는 능력으로 친사회적정서, 자아강도정서 능력이 높을수록 유치원 생활적응 간에 상관관계가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 정확하게 자신의 정서를 평가하고 표현하는 능력이 발달한 유아일수록 자신의 정서를 인식하고 문제 해결을 촉진시키며 또래들과의 관계에 보다 더 자신감이 있고 주도적으로 활동에 잘 참여하여 자아 효능감을 통한 효율적인 적응을 증진시켜 갈 수 있음을 시사해 주는 것이라고 본다.

영문 초록

This study examines the relationship between children’s emotional intelligence and their adaptation to kindergarten life. Children’s emotional intelligence is highly correlated with their adaptation to kindergarten life. Out of children’s emotional intelligence, pro-social emotion and ego-strength emotion abilities are shown to factors that have important effects on adaptation to kindergarten life. Pro-social emotion and ego-strength emotion abilities are the abilities to rejoice together when surrounding children are happy and make effort to help surrounding children get out of unpleasant emotions and delight them when they are unpleasant. The higher the prosocial emotion and ego-strength emotion abilities were, the higher the correlation between the pro-social emotion and ego-strength emotion abilities and adaptation to kindergarten life were shown to become. This is considered indicating that children with better developed abilities to accurately evaluate and express their emotions can better recognize their emotions, promote problem solving, are more confident in relations with peers, and well participate in activities initiatively thereby improving efficient adaptation through self-efficacy.
