영문 초록

As demand for practical learning has been increased rapidly, more and more universities are developing and offering translation courses for undergraduate students. Their expectation is focused on practical English and the translation skills rather than the theories, so professors offer curriculum with more translation practice. With the focus on teaching material that is one of the most important factors in teaching, this research paper will show the results of examining teaching materials and textbooks for undergraduate translation-related programs in Korea and the reasons why lecturers have used them. Based on the results, this paper will present a useful textbook model for effective teaching in translation courses which can meet students’ needs, ease the burden of instructors preparing class materials, and improve the quality of teaching.
