영문 초록

This study was carried out to identify the characteristics of farm household income problems and to grope the direction of off-farm income development. The result of this study summarized as follows. First, this study identifies 3 characteristics of farm house hold income problems. That is 1) low level of farm household income, 2) expanding income gap among urban and rural households, 3) weakness of farm household income structure. And this study suggest that the discussions of rural industrialization are situated justly in the center of farm household income promotion policy. In this context, this study also propose a few promotion directions of rural industrialization. The first is the provision of sufficient support compensating the disadvantage of rural location, that is sacrificed agglomeration economy. The second is reexamination of rural industrialization policy based on small business and small scale industrial complex. The third is reexamination of the logic that agricultural product processing industries appropriate as rural indusry.
