실과 교과를 통한 초등학교 녹색성장교육의 적합성 및 타당성에 관한 탐색적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 국가·사회적 아젠다로서 등장하게 된 녹색성장교육을 초등학교에서 구현하는데 있어서 실과 교과의 적합성과 타당성을 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 첫째, 실과 교육과정해설에서 제시되고 있는 학습내용요소로부터 녹색성장교육을 위한 학습내용요소를 추출하여 실과 교과를 통한 녹색성장교육의 적합성을 재조명하였으며, 둘째, ‘환경과 녹색성장’ 교과의 교육과정 및 교육과정해설을 토대로 실과 교과와의 관련성을 검토한 후, 관련성이 높은 몇 영역을 토대로 초등의 수준과 실과 교과의 성격에 맞도록 내용체계를 재구성하여 이에 따른 학습목표를 개발하였다. 또한 현실적으로 녹색성장교육을 위한 교재가 마련되지 못하는 점을 고려하여 교수학습 자료의 필요성을 강조하고 교재의 몇 가지 구성 원칙을 제시하였다. 이상의 연구 내용을 통해 생활교과인 실과 교과는 녹색성장교육에서 표방하는 교육의 의미에 잘 부합되고 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 따라서 현실적으로 현재 교육과정으로는 녹색성장에 관한 교육을 별도의 교과로 등장시켜 다루기가 어려운 상황이므로 초등학교에서의 ‘녹색성장’에 관한 교육이 여러 교과를 통해 통합적으로 이루어질 수 있다고 가정할 때, 그 중 실과 교과 내용과의 타당성과 적합성을 확인한 내용요소에 대해서 적극적으로 녹색성장교육을 전개해 나갈 수 있을 것으로 볼 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study was done to evaluate the suitability and validity of the practical arts education in bodying out green growth education at the elementary school. First, we extracted learning contents for green growth education from learning contents of the practical arts education that 2007 Curriculum Revision and its guide book presents. Second, we investigated the relation of the practical arts education and a new optional subject, Environment and Green Growth, for high school students on the basis of their curriculums and the guide books. Third, we reconstituted the contents of several categories that showed high relevancy between the two subjects and developed aims of the learning for them, considering the level of elementary school and the nature of practical arts education. Lastly, we suggested the several principles of organization the teaching-learning materials for green growth education at the elementary school. The academic findings imply that the practical arts education, as a subject deal with everyday life, corresponds closely with the educational goals for green growth education . Also, it is practically very difficult to make a new subject for green growth education separately. In this situation, it is suitable and reasonable to proceed green growth education for elementary school students throughout the practical arts education.
