초등교원 양성대학 다문화교육 강좌의 구성과 운영 실태 및 실과교육과의 관련성 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 교육과학기술부의 사업계획에 의해 수행된 초등교원 양성대학의 ‘다문화교육’ 강좌의 구성과 운영의 실태를 비교 분석하여 이 중 실과교육에서의 접근과 역할에 대해 모색하고자 한 것이다. 10개 초등교원 양성대학의 2009년 다문화교육 강좌의 강의계획서를 바탕으로 강좌목명, 이수학년, 이수구분, 강좌내용의 주제, 운영방식, 교수학습 방법들을 분석한 결과, 각 대학마다 다양하게 구성, 운영되고 있음을 알 수 있었으며, 이로써 교사교육으로서 다문화교육의 발전 방안을 살펴보았다. 아울러 실과교육의 입장에서 초등교원 양성 교육프로그램의 기능에 대한 시사점을 찾아보고자 하였다. 이 연구에서 논의된 교사교육으로서 다문화교육의 발전 방안은 다문화와 다문화교육에 대한 내용 구성의 타당성 확보, 다문화교육의 이론과 경험적 내용의 합리적 구성, 일반다문화교육과 맞춤형다문화교육에 대한 교육내용의 구조화, 다문화교육 내용 구성의 체계화와 표준화, 다학문적·통합적 다문화교육의 필요성과 팀티칭의 효율성 검토, 다양한 교수학습방법을 적용한 프로그램 개발 및 운영, 다문화 관련 활동 및 지역 내 관련기관과의 연계, 강좌에 대한 피드백의 적극적 수용, 다문화교육 강좌의 이수학년의 효율적 배치 등이다. 이 연구를 토대로 앞으로 실과교육에서도 초등교사 양성 프로그램으로서의 ‘다문화교육’, ‘초등 다문화교육을 위한 교사교육’에 대한 학문적 연구가 확대되고, 한편으로는 실제로 현재의 다문화교육 강좌가 보다 효과적이고 체계적인 교육과정으로 거듭날 수 있도록 해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes management status of multi-culture educational program, recently provided by several universities nurturing elementary school teachers under the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology s plan. In particular, the paper indicates problem of the running programs in terms of their practical condition and composition of lectures, and attempts to provide a better alternative for compensating the defect. The paper ultimately intends to provide a help to the multicultural educational program deliver its essentials and fundamental intent as an education for the soon-to-be elementary school teachers, therefore the paper leads to discussion for what the role of practical education is in multi-culture education, in other words what multi-culture education in practical education is as teachers education. As a result of closely looking at the current programs, run by the 10 universities, under the categories of name, topic, teaching method, and management system of lectures as well as enrolling grade, each school has its unique style in providing, and therefore this study tries to point out implications or any benefits of the program. The alternatives, discussed in this paper, involve validity of contents of the program, a balance between theoretical and practical contents, the structured program of the general and the customized education, systematization and standardization of the contents, a need of interdisciplinary program as well as effects of team-teaching, development and practicalization of various teaching methods, a setting up the relationship with institutions or activities related to the multi-cultural, active accommodation of feedbacks on lecture, effective disposition of enrolling years, etc. Based on this paper, the further studies on multi-culture education and multi-culture education for elementary school teachers as a nurturing program should be continued. In addition, the studies need to help the current educational programs develop in a way of more effective and systemized one.
