MBTI 성격·적성 검사에서 나타나는 발명 영재의 특성

국문 초록

이 연구는 초·중·고 발명 영재들에게서 나타나는 성격 유형의 특징을 분석하기 위한 연구로 한국발명진흥회의 발명장학생으로 선발된 학생들의 MBTI 유형을 분석하였다. 연구의 신뢰성을 높이기 위하여 2010년과 2011년 참가 학생을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였으며 초등학생 125명, 중등학생 121명, 고등학생 109명이 참여하였다. 초등학생의 경우 MMTIC 검사를 실시하였으며 중학생과 고등학생은 MBTI 검사를 실시하였다. 이 결과를 일반 학생들의 성격 유형 분포와 비교하여 MBTI 유형에서 나타나는 발명 영재아들의 특성을 찾아내었다. 연구 결과 초·중·고 발명 영재들은 일반 아동과 성격 유형, 기질, 기능 면에서 모두 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다. 초등 발명 영재의 MBTI 유형은 ENFP(48.8%)와 ENTP(16.8%)에 집중되어 있었으며, 기능과 기질 모두 NF(59.2%)유형이 가장 높게 나타났다. 중등 발명 영재들의 MBTI 유형은 ENTP(25.62%)에서 가장 높게 나타났으며, 초등 발명 영재와 달리 F(감정형)보다는 T(사고형)에 많은 비중을 나타내었다. 고등학교 발명 영재들의 MBTI 유형은 ENFP(21.1%)와 ENTP(18.35%)에 집중되어 있었다. 고등학교 발명 영재의 경우 성격 기능 및 기질 모두 NT(39.4%)가 가장 높게 나타났으나 일반 고등학생의 경우 기능은 ST(45.4%), 기질은 SP(40.2%)가 가장 높게 나타났다. 이 외에 발명영재들의 성격유형은 수학이나 과학 영재들의 성격유형과도 차이를 보였는데 수학 영재의 경우 I(내향형)이 주를 이루고 과학 영재의 경우 I(내향형)과 E(외향형)이 고른 분포를 나타내는데 비하여 발명영재는 E(외향형)이 주로 나타나며 P(인식형)형이 높게 관찰되는 것으로 나타났다. 종합하면 발명영재들의 MBTI 유형은 주로 ENFP나 ENTP을 가지는 것으로 추정된다. 그러나 학생들은 성격 유형이 미분화 단계에 있으며 또한 다른 유형에서도 발명 영재들이 관찰되고 있으므로 영재 판별에는 주의하여 사용되어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study was performed for the MBTI type analysis of the invention scholarship students of KIPA (Korea Invention Promotion Association). To increase reliability of the survey, the research was performed for 2 year’s participant. Total participated number of elementary school student is 125, that of middle school student is 121, and that of high school student is 109. For elementary school student, MMTIC test was conducted and for middle and high school student, MBTI test was performed. The result was compared with MBTI & MMTIC type of general student. The MBTI characteristic of gifted student for invention are meaningfully different with that of general student regardless of elementary, middle and high school. MBTI type of elementary school gifted students for invention are concentrated on ENFP(48.8%) and ENTP(16.8%). The most highlighted function and temperament of the student are NT(59.2%). MBTI type of middle school gifted students for invention are concentrated on ENTP(25.6%). Different with the elementary school student, T type students are more than F type student. MBTI type of high school gifted students for invention are concentrated on ENFP(21.1%) and ENTP(18.4%). The most highlighted function and temperament of the gifted student are NT(39.4%) but the most frequent function and temperament of general high school student are ST(45.4%) and SP(40.2%), respectively. Besides, the MBTI characteristic of gifted student for invention was different with other area gifted student. The gifted student for Math and science have I Type attitude or uniformly distribute I and E type. But many portion of the gifted student for invention have E type and P type attitude. To sum up, the major MBTI type of the gifted student for invention are ENFP and ENTP. However, the characteristic type of a student is unspecialized, so the result must be used with caution.
