영문 초록

This study investigated college women’s fashion wig-wearing patterns and their awareness of wigs in the Republic of Korea and the U.S. For this, a survey was conducted among college women in their 20s from a University in Ohio State and a college in Daejeon, South Korea. To analyze differences in the awareness of hairstyles and fashion wig according to personal experience and fashion wig-wearing attitudes among college women in the Republic of Korea and the U.S., a questionnaire survey was conducted with a total of 657 students (the U.S.: 270 copies, South Korea: 395 copies), and the data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0. The study results found the following: college women’s demographic characteristics were determined by nationality and a comparison was made of their styles and beauty salon visit patterns. This study found the preferred types of fashion wig depending on users’ wearing patterns and general characteristics. Furthermore, it compared fashion wig-wearing college women’s satisfaction and stress and comparatively analyzed those who did not wear fashion wigs. It is expected that this study will provide basic data needed for the expansion of the fashion wig industry in the Republic of Korea and the U.S. and effective penetration into the global market.
