아카데믹 기술창업을 어떻게 촉진시킬 것인가? : 아카데믹 연구자들의 창업태도 변화를 중심으로

국문 초록

최근 지식기반경제에서 과학기술적 지식 창출을 견인하는 대학 및 공공연구기관에 소속된 아카 데믹 연구자들에 의한 기술창업에 학계나 정책입안자들의 관심이 집중되고 있다. 그 동안 아카데믹 연구자들의 기술창업을 활성화시키기 위해 다양한 노력을 전개해 왔음에도 아직까지 그 효과 성은 미미한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 아카데믹 연구자들의 기술창업을 촉진시키기 위한 보다 실질적이고 효과적인 방안을 모색하고자 아카데믹 연구자들의 창업에 대한 태도변화를 발생시키는 요인이 무엇인지를 밝히고자 독자적으로 실시한 서베이에 근거하여 실증연구를 수행하였다. 연구 결과 아카데믹 연구 자들의 성별에 따른 차별성 존재와 함께 초기창업 자금 및 시장정보에 대한 지원이 아카데믹 연구자들의 창업태도 변화에 주요한 긍정적인 요인이 되는 반면 창업기업에 대한 경영(재무 및 인사 관리) 지원의 경우에는 오히려 부정적인 요인이 된다는 것을 발견하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 향후 아카데믹 기술창업에 대한 후속 연구에 중요한 기초가 될 뿐 아니라 향후 관련 정책 내지 사업개 발에 있어 세심한 주의가 필요하다는 것을 시사해준다.

영문 초록

Entrepreneurship has played an important role in generating new jobs and getting sustainable economic growth in most economies, In recent, scholars and policy-makers have focused their interests on the role of the universities and public research institutes in the entrepreneurship because of their increased role in creating new scientific and technological knowledge in the knowledge-based economy, Korea government has continued to develop and implement a variety set of public policies and programs in order to encourage the technology entrepreneurship in the universities and public research institutes, but their effectiveness is still doubtful, Under this situation, this paper aimed at finding the factors inducing the entrepreneurial attitude change of academic scientists and engineers who have been working for the universities or public research institutes based on an autonomous and unique survey of academic scientists and engineers, We also aimed at finding solutions how to encourage the academic entrepreneurships by revisiting the generally adopted policy approaches, Our results show that there is the gender difference in the entrepreneurial attitude change of the academic scientists and engineers by the entrepreneurship supporting programs, We also find that both the funding at early stage of startups and the supporting in-depth information on markets related to the technology to be commercialized is positively related to the their entrepreneurial attitude change by the supporting programs of the entrepreneurship, We also find that academic scientists and engineers can be discouraged by the approach supporting the management of finance and HR unlike the policy-makers’ expectation, We expect this paper to be an important foundation to follow-up researches regarding academic technology entrepreneurship and to develop the more sophisticated policies and/or programs supporting academic technology entrepreneurship.
