'사랑'의 개념에 대한 고찰 : 요한 바오로 2세의 『몸의 신학』을 중심으로

국문 초록

요한 바오로 2세는 "사랑은 상대의 행복을 바라는 것입니다. 즉 상대의 행복을 위해 자신을 내어 주는 것입니다. 서로의 행복을 위해 서로를 내어 준 결과, 새 생명이 태어나게 됩니다. 그러니까 자신을 내어 주는 그 행위는 사랑에서 비롯되어야 합니다."라고 말했다. 참된 사랑은 자기 자신에서 벗어나 다른 이들을 긍정하도록 이끌고, 하느님과 인간을 위해 우리 자신을 헌신하도록 이끌어준다. 그렇기 때문에 교회와 사회는 이와 같은 사랑을 할 기회를 주고, 이러한 방법으로 사랑할 포용력을 갖게 하며, 그리고 자기중심주의와 개인주의의 틀을 깨고 나올 수 있도록 가르쳐야 한다. 그럴 때 혼인의 진정한 가치와 의미를 발견할수 있게 된다. 사랑이란 받고자 하는 욕구만으로는 충분치 않다. 사랑은 주는 법을 알아야 한다. 그러나 혼인을 준비하는 젊은이들을 비롯하며 오늘날 많은 사람이 이런 준비를 해본 적이 없다. 교회는 그 준비를 도와줄 의무가 있으며, 요한 바오로 2세의 『몸의 신학』은 사랑-성-혼인 그리고 출산이라는 생명교육에 좋은 길잡이다. 『몸의 신학』은 단지 하나의 이론이 아니라, 몸에 대한 구체적이고 복음적이며 그리스도교적인 교육학이다. 『몸의 신학』은 성경의 특성에서 유래하고 무엇보다 인간을 위한 참된 선을 계시하는 구원의 메시지인 복음에서 오며, 이 선을 기준으로 다가올 세상에 대한 희망이라는 전망 안에서 이 지상의 삶을 만들어 갈 것을 목적으로 한다. '성의 본질은 생명이다. 그리고 성에는 절제와 책임이 필요하다.'는 인식이 교육을 통해 많은 사람들에게 전해졌으면 한다. 그래서 모든 젊은 이들이 성을 단순히 쾌락의 도구로 바라보는 것이 아니라 생명의 책임으로 인식하며 자신들의 삶뿐만 아니라 다른 사람에게도 행복을 전해줄수 있는 선택을 할 수 있었으면 한다. 사랑의 책임은 한 순간에 이루어지는 것이 아니라 오랜 시간 성실히 그리고 꾸준히 의지적으로 노력을 할 때 가능한 일이다. 그런 노력이 있을 때, 공든 탑(쌓은 덕)이 쓰러져도 다시 쌓을 수 있는 용기를 가질 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

John Paul II said "Love is to desire happiness of person other, that is to self-giving for him. The results to self-giving for happiness each others, New life is be a born. Hence the acts that self-giving must be derived from love." Authentic love leads us to affirm others by freeing ourselves and to devote ourselves for God and the neighbors. Therefore, the church and society should give the opportunity to experience such love, and the magnanimity to love in this way and teach how to break them old and come out from egocentrism and individualism. This is when we can discover the true value and meaning of marriage. Love is not enough with the desire to be loved. We should know how to love. But a lot of people including the young who are preparing for marriage have not done this kind of groundwork these days. The church has the responsibility to help them to organize it and John Paul II's Theology of the Body will be a good guide for the bioethics education of love, sex, marriage and birth. 'Theology of the Body' is not only a theory but adefinite, evangelical and Christian education on body. 'Theology of the Body' derives from the traits of the Bible and above all from the redemption message which is the Gospel that shows true good. And it aims to make earthly life in ahopeful view that a world will come based on this goodness. I hope this perception that 'the essence of sex is life and sex requires moderation and responsibility' will be spread to people through education. Thus every young people will not look at sex as means of pleasure but as a responsibility forlife, and they will make choices that will bring happiness to their lives and others. The responsibility of love cannot be accomplished at once. It is possible when we are sincerely and progressively willing to endeavor for a longtime. Through such an effort, we can have the courage to build the virtues of chastity back even when it collapses.
