영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to present a long-term development strategies based on the potential growth factors of Taegu and its special characteristics. Therefore, this study examined the formative process of Taegu as a metropolitan area and analyzed its development and structural changes. This study also studies the image of Taegu`s future, development problems and a development means centering around the longterm development plan of Taegu which was recently planned. The development plan of Taegu could be separately presented as follows : the management plan of great-sphere metropolitan area, the reinforcement of central management function and the formation of office park, the high-powered level of industry, the large-sphere transportation and communication plan, and the management plan of the large-sphere performance of the Taegu metropolitan region. From now on, the industrial structure of Taegu needs to be altered in order to enlarge its economic power and the central management function should be reinforced by the formation of the office park. The balanced regional development could be achieved by Taegu as a large-sphere big city and Kyungbuk with its medium size cities. Taegu needs to improve the quality of its industry inviting high level industry and promoting a small and medium industry. Also the installation of central office function research institute, and the reinforcement of technique, information, finance, transportation and service is required to make high quality jobs and high level city functions. A satellite town needs to be developed to balance the population and city functions. A great-sphere administration should also solve the problems from waterworks, sewage, a waste filled-up land and other aversion facilities.
