영문 초록

Until recently, causal analysis on traffic accident has based on engineering side such as transportation infrastructure, roadway and traffic facilities but few on drivers’ social characteristics and behavior. In the study the elements that might be supposed as factors effecting on traffic accidents are grouIX through principle component analysis and are then applied into sσuctural equation model. The structural equation model anyzes traffic accident exposure taking into account the relationships among latent variables containing quantitative elements such as taxi drivers' personal characteristics and qualitative e!ements such as their psychology and environment on driving. The results are the followings. First, in basic statistic analysis, traffic accidents depend on the length of taxi driving. Second, personal latent variab!es negatively rlects traffic accident exposure and moral latent variable, meaning that σaffic accidents decrease as the number of family and age increase. Third, taxi drivers having native thoughts on ethics and fair game have the possibility of increase of traffic accidents. Forth, urban and company latent variables as exogenous variable do not give direct effect on traffic accident but indirectly reflect it through moral !atent variable.
