영문 초록

Seoul Metropolitan Region(SMR) has sprawled rapidly since 1960`s. Diverse policies to mitigate the spatial concentration on Seoul and the natural bounding pressure resulted from overconcentration have been considered as the major causes of the sprawl. The industrial relocation policy from Seoul to SMR has been regarded as the most important one among those policies. Thus this study aims first, to analyze the relation between the industrial relocation, industrial growth and the population growth by the index of regional growth of each region in SMR; secondly, through the statistical correlation analysis with the time interval of 5 years since 1970, to describe how the industrial relocation policy has influenced to the population growth; and thirdly to assess the efficiency of the industrial relocation policy as a strategy of decentralization.
