재외동포 한국어학습자를 위한 문학교재 편찬 단계 제언

국문 초록

이 논문은 재외동포 한국어 학습자를 위한 문학교재 개발의 필요성과 편찬 단계 제언에 대한 연구이다. 국내 한국어교육이 독립적인 학문의 체계를 수립하는 양질의 발전을 거듭하는 동안 상대적으로 재외동포 한국어 교육은 답보상태를 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 재외동포 학습자들이 겪는 학습 동기의 저하와 학습 단절 현상을 극복하기 위한 교육적 대안으로 문학작품을 활용한 한국어 교육이 제시될 수 있다. 특히 문학작품이 지닌 장점을 교수자료화 하고 이 과정에서 국내 작품 뿐 아니라 재외한인작가들의 문학작품들을 함께 수록하는 것은 언어교육의 차원을 넘어 정체성 교육의 측면에서도 그 교육적 효용성을 지닐 수 있을 것이다. 재외한인작가들의 작품에는 각 거주국 별 이주의 신산함과 정착의 과정, 이중적 정체성에 대한 고민이 생생하게 묘사되어 있기 때문이다. 문학교재 편찬을 위한 방안으로 크게 3단계의 과정을 제안하였다. 제1단계는 교육내용을 표준화하기 위한 단계로 국내외 한국어교육 전문가들에 의한 요구조사와 교육목표와 표준 교육과정의 수립을 제안하였다. 제 2단계는 교재 구성의 단계로 국내외 한국어교사, 한국어교육 전문가 집단을 중심으로 한 집필진의 구성, 구체적인 작품 선정 기준의 마련, 국내외 자료의 수집과 분석, 선정된 작품의 체계적인 구성과 그 작품들을 언어교수화 하는 과정이 이루어져야 함을 강조하였다. 마지막으로 제3단계는 최종 감수와 부교재의 제작 단계이다. 한국어교육 전문가와 문학교육 전문가, 재외한국어교육기관의 교사들이 교차 검증을 통해 교재의 완성도를 높여야 한다. 특히 언어권에 따른 현지의 특성이 반영되어야 하며 다양한 시청각 교재로 구성된 부교재의 제작도 이루어져야 함을 제시하였다. 본 논문이 재외동포 한국어학습자들을 위한 문학교재 편찬의 초석이 되기를 바란다.

영문 초록

This paper presents an investigation into a need and plan for the development of literature teaching materials for overseas Koreans learning Korean. As Korean education in the nation has made remarkable growth including its own independent academic system, Korean education for overseas Koreans has relatively been at a stalemate. Its biggest causes are the lowered learning motivation and interrupted learning of overseas Koreans trying to learn the language. One of educational alternatives to overcome the problems is to make use of literary works in Korean education. Making literary works teaching materials based on their advantages and including the works of overseas Korean writers in such teaching materials as well as native Korean writers in the process will have educational utility in the aspect of identity education beyond language education. The works of overseas Korean writers vividly depict the hardship of migration, settlement process, and worries over dual identity by the countries of their current residence. The present study proposed a three-stage plan for the compilation of literature teaching materials: Stage 1 for the standardization of educational content suggested a needs survey with experts on Korean education home and abroad and the establishment of educational goals and standard curriculums. Stage 2 for the organization of specific teaching materials emphasized the composition of writing staffs with Korean teachers and experts on Korean education home and abroad, criteria to select specific works for the teaching materials, collection and analysis of data home and abroad, systematic organization of selected works, and utilization of selected works in the language lessons in the forms of original, annotated, and abstract versions. Finally, the third step is to create a final confirmation and supplementary materials. Korean language and literature specialist education professionals, teachers overseas Korean educational institutions through cross-validation to increase the completeness of the text. It is especially required to reflect the cultural and linguistic characteristics of each country where overseas Koreans learning Korean live according to the language groups and make auxiliary teaching materials comprised of various audiovisual data. The study will hopefully offer a foundation for the compilation of literature teaching materials for overseas Koreans learning Korean.
