An Empirically Based Classification with Rule Space Model

국문 초록

본 연구는 인지진단모형의 하나인 Rule space model (RSM: Tatsuoka, 1983; 1985, 2009)을 중학생 대상으로 실시되고 있는 대규모 수학시험에 적용하였다. 또한 분류를 위해서 사용될 수 있는 방법들 중에서 기존의 Attribute mastery probabilities(AMP: Tatsuoka, 2009) 와 본 연구에서 새롭게 제안된 normative AMP을 비교하였다. 본 연구에서는 Q-matrix에 기초 하여 개발된 86 문항으로 구성된 수학검사를 2993명의 표본의 응답반응을 분석 대상으로 사용하였으며 분석 절차는 (1) Q Matrix 구성, (2) Ideal reponses 생성, (3) 규칙장(rule space)형성, (4) AMP와 normative AMP에 따른 분류로 실행되었다. 분석결과는 대략 80% 문항들이 둘 이상의 다수의 인지속성을 갖는 것으로 밝혀졌으며, 학생들의 인지속성별 숙달 확 률이 다양하게 나타났다. RSM의 적용을 통해, 문항 난이도의 원인을 인지속성별로 파악하였으며, 개인별 맞춤형 진단적 피드백의 예시를 제공하였다. 본 연구는 인지진단모형의 하나인 RSM의 적용절차를 기술하고, 분류를 위한 AMP와 normative AMP를 비교하며, 이에 따른 RSM이 수학교육에서의 활용될 수 있는 방안을 제안한 점에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Tatsuoka's rule space model (Tatsuoka, 1983, 1984, 2009: RSM) as one of cognitive diagnosis models(CDM) was used to provide a guideline for practical applications to large-scale test data The state accountability test consisted of 86-items that were administered to all 8th grade students in Kansas state was analyzed. A representatives sample of approximately 3,000 response patterns was used in this study. The processes of the RSM were as follows: (a) the identification of attributes and the construction of incidence matrix; (b) generating ideal responses; (c) formulating rule space characterized by two dimensions consisting of the ability variable (θ) and the person-fit variable (ζ); (d) individual attribute mastery probabilities as diagnostic results. Normative attribute mastery probability (AMP) was suggested as a modified classification method and compared to Tatsuoka's AMP. This study showed that approximately 80% of items involved multiple skills according to the standards categories and that students' attribute mastery probabilities varied widely within most score levels. Multiple procedures for the RSM application presented in this study and the comparison between Tatsuoka's AMP and normative AMP have implications for future research in the RSM.
