氣論의 서예미학적 고찰

국문 초록

드넓은 세계 속에서 한 생명체가 숨을 들이마시고 내뿜을 때, 어떤 유형ㆍ무형으로 존재하는 것이 있는데, 동양인들은 그것을 ‘氣’라고 부른다. 氣는 본래 우주만물을 구성하는 기본적인 물질이며, 서양철학과 비교할 때 매우 독특한 개념이다. 氣는 그 의미가 풍부하며, 생리적인 혈기나 도덕적인 호연지기 등을 모두 포함한다. 氣는 물질에 속하면서 정신에 속하고, 생리에 속하면서 心理에 속하므로, 동양인들은 그 氣를 통하여 세계를 이해하고, 사람들의 정신까지도 해석한다. 氣의 서예미학적 적용을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 만물의 본원은 元氣이며, 그것은 서예의 생명을 구성하는 기초가 된다. 둘째, 一氣論의 관점에서 서예의 점ㆍ획은 氣로써 모든 생명과 하나로 연결된다. 셋째, 음양의 二氣는 서예창작의 중요한 요소이다. 넷째, 氣論은 서예의 생명성을 추구하는데 직접적인 영향을 주었다. 다섯째, 養氣論은 서예가의 인격완성과 깊은 관계가 있다. 본고는 氣를 본체로 서예의 우주정신, 생명성, 인격화 및 심미평가로 구분하여 서예미학적으로 고찰하였다.

영문 초록

The core of traditional culture are the traditional philosophy. The problem of Material forces that can be called typical propositions of oriental philosophy is both a matter of philosophy, it is also a matter of art. Similarly, Calligraphy is strongly influenced by the philosophy of ‘Material forces’, These Material forces is basically originated in the spirit of life. ‘Material forces’ can aesthetically broadly classified into three. The first is ‘Material forces’ of the universe which is the origin of the art. The second is ‘Material forces’, artists to express their spirituality. The third is ‘Material forces’, appeared in works of art. Calligraphy shall express vitality, vital force, pure energy, etc. But these days, abandoned cosmology of ‘material forces’ and embracing the Western physical view of the world, cosmology of ‘material forces’ that included spirit and matter lost its spiritual reality and only remained material energy. Calligraphy is also no exception. The idea of ‘Material forces’ has many things to give a direct impact on the calligraphy aesthetic ideas of many generations, if it is looking around, there are the theory of vitality, the theory of the single vigor, Yin-Yang theory, the theory of developing vitality, and so on. This paper was calligraphy aesthetic consideration selecting the eight categories, such as spirit, humors and pulse, vigor, art, superhumanity, taste and smell, developing vitality and remarkable vitality that could be called a representative from the philosophy of ‘Material forces’, sorted by Cosmic sense, life theory, aesthetic evaluation, anthropomorphism, etc.
