국문 초록

그동안 중남미지역은 한국의 대외수출시장에서 소외되어 왔으나 지난 2004년 한ㆍ칠레간의 FTA가 발효됨에 따라 교역의 증대와 함께 주목을 받기 시작했으며 한ㆍ페루간의 FTA가 추가적으로 발효되어 중남미지역시장으로의 수출기회가 보다 확대되었다. 한ㆍ중남미간 FTA체결이후 교역환경을 살펴보면 교역금액이 증가한 것으로 나타났지만 무역수지에 있어서는 한국이 여전히 적자를 기록하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 문제점은 한ㆍ중남미지역간의 교역상품의 구조적인 문제점과 중남미지역 국가들의 FTA 확대정책과 관련이 있다. 본 연구에서는 한ㆍ중남미지역간의 FTA체결 이후 교역환경의 변화를 분석하기 위해 한ㆍ칠레 및 한ㆍ페루간 FTA를 중심으로 발효 전과 발효 후의 교역구조를 분석하고 이에 대한 문제점을 파악한 후 합리적인 개선방안을 모색해 보았다 .한국이 중남미지역과의 FTA 체결로 중남미지역시장에 진출할 수 있는 교두보가 확보되었지만 수출을 확대하고 보다 안정적으로 지역시장을 선점하기 위해서는 수출품목의 다변화, 투자의 확대 및 중남미지역 국가와의 FTA 체결을 확대해야 할 것으로 판단된다.

영문 초록

Purpose : This study analyzes the changes in trade environment in Korea after executing the FTA with the countries in Central and South America through comparisons. Then, it aims review the problems and suggest plans to maximize the effect of FTA between Korea and the countries in Central and South America. Research design, data, methodology : This study analyzes the trade structure before and after entering the FTA between Korea and Chile, and the FTA between Korea and Peru in order to analyze trade environment the after the FTA between Korea and the countries in Central and South America and seeks for reasonable improvement after finding out the problems. Results : As a result of analysis on the FTA between Korea and the countries in South America, it was found that the trade amount increased but Korea has still recorded trade deficit, which is related to structural problems of trade products between the countries and FTA expansion policy of the countries in Central and South America. Conclusions : Through the execution of FTA with the countries in Central and South America, Korea has secured a foundation to advance to the markets of Central and South America. In order to dominate the local markets more stably, expansion of FTA is required further with other countries in Central and South America.
