영문 초록

This paper investigated residents' perceptions on the impacts of the International Travel Expo '99 Kangwon and examined whether their perceptions were different according to their socio-economic characteristics and the degree of social exchanges. The results of the survey revealed that, in general, the event brought some positive impacts in such areas as expansion of infrastructures, promotion of community images, and social benefits. The results also revealed that residents didn't hold the same perceptions depending on their socio-economic characteristics and the degree of social exchanges. Some suggestions were made for the similar future events.
